  • Anyone have any idea how long Polaroid film can remain stable?

I ended up with a Polaroid 210 camera this weekend - the camera's in great shape; it's not the issue.

In its carrying case were three, unopened boxes of Type 108(!) Polaroid film, with expiration dates in the early 1970s. Everything's still in the foil inside; I haven't popped open everything to check to see if the chemicals have hardened inside the packs.

Now, the camera and case were all sitting in a dry, dark basement for the last who knows how many years, but I'm not expecting the results - assuming I can get any - to look normal when I try shooting this stuff in a couple days. Anyone have any idea whether or not the chemistry and everything has any chance of being workable after nearly four decades, though? I'm gonna give it a shot, either way, but I'm just curious.
