  • Which dSLR camera is better, Canon T2i or the Nikon D5000?

I've read countless reviews and have narrowed my search down to either the Canon T2i or the Nikon D5000. These cameras appear to be very evenly matched with each other. Seeing as this will be my first digital SLR camera, I really don't know which features will suit me better.

I will be using the camera for taking pictures of nature, friends and family, and some actions shots, as in sports. I currently have a point and shoot Sony Cybershot, with which I am happy, but I'd like some more detail in the pictures, and I need faster shooting.

I like the fact that the screen on the Nikon is articulated. I see that the Nikon has 11 auto focus points as opposed to Canon's 9, but I really don't know if this will affect me or not. Also, someone told me that the Canon cameras all use the same lenses, so I could use lenses I would buy for this camera again on another one. Is that how it works?

There are many other specs I could go through, but like I said, they really don't make sense to me. Which camera would you recommend, and why?

I probably won't be shooting too much video, and the weight of the camera really isn't a concern for me. I'm not concerned with price, really, I just want a good entry-level camera. Not to say I want a beginners' camera, because to me that sounds like something I would grow out of in two days after learning how to use it.

I'm looking for the camera that's going to cause me the least trouble, and that's why the swappable lenses on the Canon are attractive to me.

Which camera would best suit my needs?

  • what are some good thin-framed tennis racquets?

My dad told me that I should look into some thin-framed racquets because they have better control (well, the flexible thin-framed ones, anyway), but I'm not sure which brands to look at first. We usually buy off holabird or tennis warehouse. (Yes, I'm going to demo them first.)

I guess I'm asking, what are the best brands for thin, flexible framed racquets?

Note: Control is not a major issue for me, therefore not a main concern. I was just thinking about trying it. so, the racquet doesn't have to have like, nothing but control features. I want something that I can get a lot of power from. I've always used babolat for that reason, but they don't make any thin frames.

  • Question about hitting (forehand) slice to the baseline?

So, I particularly cannot hit a forehand slice to the baseline, but I have seen many people do it effectively. I can hit a great forehand and backhand slice approach shot or volley to my opponent, but I can't get it from baseline to baseline, you know?

I'm a pretty advanced player, I know a lot of stuff beyond the basics, and my coach says my form is perfect. Is there a special trick to doing this, and it is difficult?

*by "to the baseline", I mean hitting it to my opponent's baseline.

  • Trial questions about tennis strategy and serve?

I read a question on here about asking questions about actual tennis, not just the pros and where to watch tennis live for free online. So, I have two questions:

#1 Getting lobbed at the net.

When I come to net, I get lobbed almost every time before I have the chance to put the ball away. Where or how should I be hitting my approach shot to make it difficult for my opponent to get a good lob in?

#2 Pros and Cons of this type of serve?

I'm learning how to serve keeping my feet tight together (think Gail Monfils) because i have a tendency to walk around my serve. What are the pros and cons of a serve like this, and do you have any tips on how to make it work?

Thank you. Just "doing my part to make the tennis section more interesting for everyone". =]

  • Which laptop backpack should I get?

I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two:

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_...

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_...

I figured the HP would be a better quality because it costs more, but I liked the all black of the Targus, and I didn't know if the quality of the HP would really be that big a difference.

I'll be using it for traveling with my tennis team, so it'll be mainly used in cars/buses, hotel rooms, and on the courts. It'll be holding my laptop (plus charger and mouse), a little schoolwork, and a change of clothes, cell phone and iPod and keys and all that, and sometimes a video camera or two.

And also, my laptop is 14.1". These will still work, right? It says "up to" 15.x"...

  • What Laptop Features to Consider for Internet Schooling?

My cousin is starting that internet schooling thing this fall, and my family is going to help my grandma pick a new laptop out for her. I'm pretty good with computers, but I don't know anything about internet schooling. So my question is, what kind of features are going to be essential for internet schooling? Is she going to need a large hard drive to store anything? Is a decent processor necessary, or is that a place where we can take a little bit off the cost? And any other information you can think of.

And we're trying to keep this pretty cheap, under $700.

    Thank you in advance. =]

  • Raw Egg in Caesar Salad, Consumed in the Bahamas?

I recently ate a caesar salad in the Bahamas, and now I'm sick. I was wondering if there could've been raw egg in it?

(Keep in mind, this is the Bahamas; they don't have near the amount of health laws and such that the US does.)

  • Will airport security harm my camera?

I have a Sony CyberShot. I'm not sure of the number, but it has a touch screen if that tells you anything. I'm going to be flying to the Bahamas next week, and I was wondering a few things about my camera and the airport security...

    - I've heard the magnetic belts and stuff and the x-ray machines can erase memory or harm the camera. True? If so, what do I do about it?

    - Do I just tell the airport security guards I have a camera in my possession, or what?

    - What kind of camera case would be best to deal with in airports, preferably one that can be bought at walmart?

    Any information is appreciated. =]

  • My sister's boyfriend...?

My sister's boyfriend, Jay, is very nice and friendly and outgoing, is good with adults and little kids, gets good grades in school, and comes from a wealthy family, so he normally has some class. He's pretty hot, too, if you like the blond muscular surfer type, which I actually don't, but my sister does. He's on the lacrosse and football and basketball etc. teams at school. Teachers like him. He's really popular. He honestly loves my sister. He's all my parents could ever ask for, for my sister; they're always saying how great he is. Except... he's not totally perfect like my parents think; he's a huge partier, and a terrible drinker at times. He promises my sister he'll stop, and he does sometimes. He's really serious about it, and when he says he's gonna stop, he does for awhile; but then something will happen that will mess it up again. his parents are really mean to him, and he and his dad get into horrible fist fights. sometimes when it's really bad, he starts drinking again, and he gets mean. Is my sister right to be going out with him, even though he drinks and does drugs sometimes? (Sometimes being anywhere from a few days apart to over 6 months without anything bad, depending on his parents behavior..) And should I tell my parents?

  • Is it possible to get STDs without being sexually active?

I am in no way sexually active, at all, and i don't plan on doing any of that any time soon. But I'm still terrified of getting an STD. I've even heard that you can get herpes from public restroom toilet seats... is this true?!

I guess my question is, is it possible to get STDs without sex (any kind of sex), and can you get diseases from public restroom toilets?

Just wondering if there is any truth to my paranoia, thanks in advance.

  • How to get a 32-bit internet browser on a 64-bit OS?

The operating system on my laptop is Windows Vista 64-bit, and my current internet browser is Internet Explorer 64-bit. I need to download Adobe Flash Player, but I am not able to do this because Flash Player does not yet support 64-bit internet browsers. Are there any safe, reliable 32-bit web browsers I can download? Or am I just missing some sort of loophole?

  • Why does my internet keep freezing up?

My internet keeps freezing up on my brand new hp pavilion dv4. It freezes so bad I have to turn of my computer and restart it... then it's fine for about 10 minutes, and it happens again. It's not a virus, I have virus protection software, and it can't be a computer issue, because I just bought the laptop less than a week ago. =/ Does anyone know what might be wrong, or how I can fix it?
