Asystole

When I try to sign in to messenger, I put my name and password in, hit "Sign In' and it sits for a minute like it's going to log on, then a message pops up saying "Sign In Problems" and it says to click "try again" to re-enter name and password or click "Sign In Problems" to receive information on lost screename or password. I've made sure the info I typed in is correct - and I've already unstalled and re-installed the program - I've run a virus scan and still no luck. Can anybody help me out with this? I've sent several sign in logs to yahoo and explained the problem, but I never get a response.

User name and password are correct - I've checked a thousand times - they work for yahoo mail, but not the messenger. I've tried to create a new account, the messenger still won't work. I've tried to look for older versions, but can't find any...
