  • Step by step solution of this derivative problem?

Can someone show me the solution to this problem step-by-step? It's y=( (x^2)+1 / (x^2)+1) ^ 3. In other words, parenthesis(xsquared + 1 / xsquared +1 )closeparenthesis and the whole thing cubed. The correct answer is top: (-12x( (x^2) +1)^2) divided by bottom: ( (x^2) -1) ^ 4. I just need a step by step solution-I use the Chain Rule then Quotient but keep getting stuck. Thanks for your help.

  • Anyone have any experience with speeding tickets?

I got a ticket for speeding 54 in a 30 zone (I'm in Maryland). I've only gotten 2 warnings before in my four yrs of driving. The fine is $160 and 2pts on my license.

The officer said there's 3 ways to take care of it: pay; plead guilty with explanation in front of a judge no officer, no jury, etc; or wait for a trial where it's the judge, the officer, and maybe other people.

I was hoping to plea a stay of adjudication (because of my spotless driving record), where I may or may not have to pay the fine, but the ticket and the points get taken off my record after a period of probation.

Would my best bet be to wait for a trial where the officer might show up? Or should I plead guilty with explanation? I've heard different perspectives: pleading guilty even w/ explanation shows you knew you were speeding and judge might not be that much lenient, or that pleading guilty was the only way to enter a plea of ajudication. I don't have an explanation. Any help is appreciated! Thank you very much.

  • Acoustic guitar string buzz?

ok, I have a Takamine EG523SC jumbo acoustic electric guitar. I never let anyone touch it and the one time I did this past weekend, my friend dropped it. It fell face/stringside first onto the ground, but the only discernable damage is a slight scratch on the side, nowhere close to the bridge.

My D string snapped in the process. Upon replacing, I noticed there's a buzz on the D string open and now the A string (which was intact at time of said-dropping). I didn't see any damage to the bridge or the nut. I didn't leave the guitar stringless for a long period of time (only a few hrs.), so I don't think it'd have screwed up the tension. Any ideas on why the A string is now buzzing? I'm going to take it to Guitar Center in a few days.

  • Is it worth upgrading/customizing a used 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS with 134k miles?

I recently bought it at an auction, A/c needs charging; to pass state inspection, it's going to cost around $1500 in repairs; it has ~134k miles on it, 5 speed manual. Also, it doesn't have a maintenance record. Is it worth it to invest in body kit, exhaust, etc and repairs for this car or am I better off just doing repairs, and using as daily driver only, not upgrading anything? I don't want to have to fix it, upgrade it, then have it die out in the next few thousand miles. Any help/suggestions would be helpful.
