Outdoor speaker set-up?
I want to set-up a sound system for my pool, patio area and nearby pergola. I don't have any neighbors, so I can make it loud if I want to. But what I really want is great quality sound around a pool and also in a separate pergola / outdoor room near the pool. I realize I won't get great bass - that is not a problem. Another detail is that I want to be able to turn down the volume in the pergola area, independent from the main pool area.
I am planning on putting four speakers (possibly Polk Atrium 6's) around the pool and patio area (60' x 50') and two more speakers in the pergola. I plan to drive the speakers with my old home stereo integrated amplifier (A JVC I think), however, I am willing to buy a new unit if I need to. My old integrated amp has a pair of terminals for the "A" set of speakers and another pair for the "B" set.
My questions are:
A) What is the best way to wire the proposed six speakers to the two pairs of speaker terminals?
B) What is the best way to be able to adjust the sound in the pergola down independently from the main patio area? Should I use an in-line volume control mounted in the pergola area?
