I think they tunneled in under the dirt floor. Do they cause any damage? Is there a way to make them leave without killing them?

They are black, about 3 inches long.

He is 11 years old and used to always go outside to do his business. No accidents in house. In the last few weeks he has stared using the cat litter box. No one tryed to train him to do this.

My son is age 19 and in 2nd year of college majoring in wildlife biology and works in stream quality management. The CoastGuard CSPI program will commision him as an officer and pay him to finish his final 2 years of college. He would then have to serve 3 more years active duty. I am interested in hearing of the experiences of others and their opinion of the program. Thank You.
