  • Looking for gifts for a new restaurant owner?

I'm looking to get a relative a gift for his new restaurant. I live across country, so I haven't been able to see the store itself.

Some thoughts I had were: business cards, ads, a nice picture of where I live to decorate the place, possibly customized aprons

I can't think of anything else that would be nice to the restaurant...

    Any ideas would be great!

  • What firewire pin cable do I need for my laptop?

    My laptop is here: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Studio-15-6-Inch-Chainl...

And the external hard drive I just got is this: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/external...

I know that my laptop has a Firewire 800 port, but what pin(s) does the cable need to be compatible with my laptop?

Whichever one I get, do most new laptops have that kind of Firewire port?

    Thanks!

  • Where is a good store to buy carpets?

I'm looking for a simple rug carpet that I'd like to use to put shoes on.

I was considering Walmart, but I feel that their cheap prices would mean worse quality for carpets.

Would local stores be a better option for carpets?

    Thanks

  • What charger will fit a Macbook A1181?

My friend broke his charger for a Macbook A1181.

So should I just get something with the same wattage as the wall outlet thing? Even if it's the same, will he get the max usage of his charger?

I ask this because he mentioned that some of the newer macbook pro chargers won't fit on his macbook.

    Thanks

  • Is there a new drinking age law in Canada?

I've heard rumors that Canada changed their drinking laws from 18 to 19 for US citizens born in 1992 and after. Is it true?

  • What's the best way to learn when the XBOX Kinect will be available?

I've looked everywhere online at Target, BestBuy, Walmart, Amazon, eBay, Gamestop.

But I'd like to find just the basic Kinect package that comes with Adventures at retail price, $149.99.

So is it just best to keep looking online? Would calling the stores be any helpful?

    Thanks

  • What financial accounts of companies could imply outsourcing?

I came upon this question in a magazine, and this is really intriguing me

I'd just like to know if there are any financial accounts (such as Notes Receivable, Cash Flow statements) that could imply outsourcing in any way, and if so, how.

I've got only a few listed, but my knowledge is limited from a semester of accounting courses in college...

    Thanks!

  • What's the easiest way to format a WD HDD in FAT32?

My friend, who has a mac, just got a Western Digital My Book and I've been trying for hours to format it in FAT32. But Western Digital's website suggests using Disk Utility in mac, which apparently takes forever. Is there another way to format it in FAT32 quickly (less than 2 hours hopefully)?

  • What is Chrysler's relationship with Fiat?

I know that Fiat and Chrysler are 'partnered,' but how are they specifically related currently? I'm pretty sure they're not a joint venture, and haven't really thought of any other possibilities.

Does Fiat have a stake in Chrysler, or what?

And a bit off topic, but is Chrysler publicly traded? I'm aware that Cerberus bought 100% of Chrysler and gave 20% of it to Fiat.

    Thanks

  • What would be the best ebay USPS option for sending an ipod?

I'm looking to send my ipod to someone using USPS through ebay. But the company's site is so darn confusing that I can't figure out which option (standard shipping, UPS ground, or Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box). Those are the 3 options I think would be the best for shipping an ipod with some padding.

But which one is the cheapest???

I know that for UPS' site you have to enter dimensions, but I'd just like a straightforward number.

    Thanks in advance!

  • What's the best way to tell your boss that you're quitting your job?

    Here is my situation:

I'm a college student and I've been working at this office for the past year since September 2009. I never really liked the job and finally got another job, which I'd like to start right away. Even though I kind of hated my job, my boss was always pretty nice, and so if needed, I'd like to use her as a professional reference.

AND, she is out of the office until tomorrow... So I've only worked a couple of hours this entire week... Would it do no harm to send her an email and ask to meet her ASAP? I don't know if she'd like a weeks notice or not.

With all of that in mind, what would be the best and a polite way to tell my boss that I'm quitting?

    Thanks

  • If something is coming to Linux, does that mean it will be usable for all distributions?

I don't have Linux or any other distribution, and have been reading to see what programs I would be able to use in it. I've read news that a program that I like will be developed for Linux. So does that mean it will be runnable in other distributions such as Ubuntu?

    Thanks

  • What is a good book that describes the past 2 centuries in European history?

I'm looking for a non-textbook material that I can read to learn some more about European history dating back to mid 19th century. Any recommendations? It can be any form, novel to simply non-fiction. As long as it's vivid and detailed and not boring like a textbook, then it'll suite my needs.

    Thanks!

  • Do specific wireless adapters work with a certain routers?

I'm looking to get a wireless adapter to use with my XBOX 360 and thought of the possible chance that an adapter I get won't work with the router I have. The router is a Netgear WNR 1000v. So will only certain wireless adapters work with it?

    Thanks

  • Is it okay to use different capacity batteries in a XBOX360 controller?

I noticed that there's different capacity battery capacities like 3600 and 4800 mAh. Are they both usable on the XBOX360 controllers? Any risks I would be taking if I used both (obviously not at the same time)

  • Is it bad if my elbows crack while lifting weights?

I've been working out lately and when I lift some freeweights to work on my biceps, I notice that my left elbow kind of cracks. It's more of the muscle on the front side than the actual elbow that cracks. I can feel it move a bit when I'm bringing back down the weight. I tried not bringing my elbow down all the way to its resting position while working out and when I did so, the elbow didn't crack.

Still, is this normal or anything? Am I not supposed to even bring my elbow/arm to its resting position while lifting weights as if I'm on the machines?

    Thanks

  • Who is the respective leader for a battalion, company, platoon, etc?

I've been watching Band of Brothers for the second time and I still get confused as to who is in charge of the 'groups' or the divisions in the army. I just would like to know who's in charge of a battalion, company, platoon, squad, and a team. Like what does a sergeant and lieutenant empower?

  • Is there a certain method for working out?

I've begun working out but found myself just wandering around the weight room to the free machines. I felt like I should be doing workouts all for one area of the body first and then something else. Am I right, as in should I work out my lower body, then my upper and repeat that a couple of times?

And I know that the number of reps differ by each person, but how many should a beginner do?

Also, any other tips for generally working out?

    Thanks
