  • Help understanding British government?

    I'm an American, but I live in England. I'm very active in American politics, and I fully understand its three branches of government, how they complement each other and how they work. I'm also more than aware of my country's bipartisanship (liberals versus conservatives) and I was wondering how our concepts of the two ideals compares with our British counterparts. I've tried scouring the internet, but there's just so much information I've got difficulty keeping it straight.

    I just want to know if the rest of the world is as crazy when it comes to bipartisan politics as us Yanks are. Is there anyone who understands both governments enough to help me understand how British and American liberals are similar, as well as the same about British and American conservatives?

    Please, I'm really not interested in name-calling or partisan rhetoric.
