I have participated in animal rescues (from dogs to degus) over the years. Any animals that came into my care that could not be placed in suitable homes, stayed with me. I now permanently share my home with 2 dogs (1 Standard Schnauzer and 1 Lhasa cross), 2 cats, 3 Cockatiels, 3 Quaker parrots and 2 of my 3 children. (The oldest is away at college). Some are rescues. Some are not. :) I fully support veterinarians, reputable breeders, recognized animal rescue organizations and the many people who open their homes to animals in need. They have been and still are a great help to me. I am an avid perennial and shrub gardener with varieties that include both new and old time favourites. I have learned a great deal from other gardeners and by making many mistakes over the years and will gladly pass on any information I may have acquired. As a woman and mother, I also find myself drawn to questions asked by other females, both young and older, and hope my answers help.
