  • Name this book...? May be quite difficult.?

Alright, so I know this isn't going to be much to go on but it'd be greatly appreciated if anyone had a clue what book this is. I believe I read it way back in middle school and it may or may not have been a young adult fiction novel. All I can really remember is a brief scene in the book (don't remember the book name or author, so this is going to be tough). Anyway, if I recall correctly, the book followed a young teenage boy and he may have been mildly mentally ill, and in one excerpt he describes his fear of dying and being buried, and then a "spark" in his brain bringing him back to life in his coffin. He also describes shortly after this his fear of dying without every having touched a woman's breast.. that's all I got. Any takers..?

  • Name this book..?

I read this a very, very, very, very, very long while ago, so excuse the ambiguity and lack of details. It was about these two young men that join the navy, or maybe they were drafted, during WWI I think it was, but it could've been WW2 or Vietnam. Anyways it ended with the narrator's friend being killed when an enemy ship fires cannons on their ship, and the narrator is left with one leg and ends up becoming a teacher. That's all I got.

  • Low-budget films that are surprisingly really good?

Movies like Christopher Nolan's Following. Low-budget but unique, creative story with great acting and quality cinematic techniques.

  • To the die-hard Trump and Clinton supporters ...why?

For those people that have enthusiastically backed Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton since the primaries...what do you see in them? Why did you nominate these people over arguably a lot more principled and perceptive candidates. So honestly, to the Trump supporters, how is he going to Make America Great Again and to the Clinton supporters why are we Stronger Together? Just give me policies, I don't want to hear the "We needed to stop Trump" or "We needed to stop Hillary." Why back these candidates in the primaries up to now?

  • Who are you voting for in November and why?

Here are some of the major problems that I have with each candidate:

Trump: He's a pseudo-conservative with virtually no policy. He's basically a mix between the worst of the right and the left. He doesn't believe in free trade, and wants a trade war. He's totally unprincipled and lends creedence to all the stereotypes purported by the left.

Clinton: She's corrupt to the core. She accepts foreign donations, and she speaks one way with donors (see Goldman Sachs speechs) and another way with voters. Plus I believe her corporate tax raises with a large raise to the min wage are will ruin jobs. Also her war in Libya makes me wary of how she'll handle ISIS.

Johnson: The man is just completely out of touch with any sort of foreign policy. His domestic fiscal policies seem ok, but I worry that he'll cut off our ally relations entirely. And I don't trust a guy who doesn't know what Aleppo is or who the leader of North Korea is, to fight terrorism. And some libertarian this guy is when he has advocated for federal mandates over religious liberties.

Stein: I thought the other candidates were just complete buffoons but this woman takes the cake. This is a woman who said something along the lines of "The ruthless killing of Harmabe reminds us to be a voice for the silenced" and then advocates for partial-birth abortion. And she was recently arrested for vandalism to a pipeline with her and her other "Kumbaya" hippie buddies. It's like this whole election cycle is just a parody.

  • Your thoughts on the movie "Birdman" ..?

I'd like to hear some more opinions on Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). A lot of people I know say it's overrated and it shouldn't have won an Oscar and all that. I personally thought it was terrific; a script that was nearly perfect, a great display of acting that was virtually unrivaled, a completely original plot among a period of generic Hollywood garbage.. what more could you ask for? I do quite enjoy dark, satirical comedy style films so I may be a bit biased here. Opinions?

  • Any good dark comedies similar to Birdman..?

I'd been told over and over how overrated Birdman (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) was but I just watched it and was really impressed. Was wondering if there were any other feature films, indies films, short films, anything that had the same satirical, dark comedy feel.

  • Do you think McGregor won UFC 202?

On my scorecard I had it 48-47 Diaz, giving Nate rounds 2,3 and 5 and Conor rounds 1 and 4. I could see how it could've gone either way though. Also who do you think is going to settle the score if McGregor v Diaz 3 ever happens?

  • Anyone know any good/different/creative short stories or films?

I just recently saw a short film titled "1500 Words." It was a totally out of the box dark comedy about a man who was told by his doctor that he had 1500 words left to live. If you haven't seen it you can watch it here:

Anyways, if anyone knows any other creative shorts or even full feature length films or novels please share.

  • Name this UFC Fight?

I believe it was in the UFC, but it might ve been Strikeforce, but I can recall a fight where a guy had another guy in either a triangle choke standing up or maybe it was a guillotine with his legs wrapped around the other guy standing, but the guy that was getting submitted went unconscious and fell forward and the guy with the submission ended up tapping because of a broken rip or back or something. Can t remember who the two men fighting were, if I had to guess maybe it was around welterweight. And no I m not talking about Matt Hughes vs Carlos Newton.

  • Enlisting in the Marine Corps with a prior knee injury..?

I just finished high school a couple months ago, and I've decided a while ago that I wanted to join the military, specifically the USMC; I really think that I have what it takes not just physically, but mentally too. The thing I'm worried about is getting disqualified for a knee surgery that I had about 2-3 years ago. I wrestled in high school and during my sophomore year I dislocated my patella and was out for the rest of the season. My junior year the same thing happened at the beginning of the wrestling season and I was sat for a month, but came back to finish the season. Afterwards I went to the doctor again because my knee was giving me problems to find out the MCL was torn and required knee surgery. I've checked out the disqualifications online and it mentions torn ACL's and PCL's are disqualifying, but it doesn't say anything about a torn MCL. Anyway surgery was great and I've continued to rehabilitate my knee for the past couple years and feel that it's better than ever, and I haven't experienced any problems with it since the surgery. Anything would help, thanks.

    Requiem for a Dream (2000)

    American Beauty (1999)

    Jarhead (2005)

    Full Metal Jacket (1987)

Personally, I think Jones is going to come out on top, but it should be a pretty good fight.

  • Questions about the movie This is England (2006)?

So I just saw this movie yesterday, and there's a couple things that I need cleared up for anyone else who's seen it, not just a bunch of links to other websites.

1.) Why do the rest of the skinheads accept Milky if he's of Jamaican decent? I mean, aren't skins against anyone who's nonwhite; part of the reason Combo attacks him maybe? Are the skinheads in England different from those here in America?

2.) Why were Lol and Woody getting so upset when Combo comes back and is telling his story about pudding? It looks like Lol is about to cry almost? Is this because of what went on between Combo and Lol before he got locked up? Does Woody know what went on with Combo and Lol?

3.) How old is Shaun and how old is Smell? I mean, Shaun doesn't look any older than maybe 11 or 12, and Smell looks like she's 17 or 18, so why would she want to date a little kid?

4.) Did Combo kill Milky? It really looks like he's dead, but the next day in Shaun's room, his mom Cynth says, "It's going to be ok." Does this imply Milky is still alive or is it just a reassurance?
