Ward a Giant. Chasing games or the almighty dollar?
It has been revealed that Western Bulldog player Callan Ward has signed with the GWS franchise. Has he gone to get more games at the newest club, or has the dollar signs lured him from Whitten Oval to Blacktown?
12 AnswersAustralian Rules10 years agoWith their poaching of Collingwood talent, have the Blues poached the Colliwobbles as well?
Deedubya's word of wisdom in an earlier question, got me thinking about the Blues - and how we are travelling. We have taken Swann from Collingwood, and this year have two ex Collingwood players as assistant coaches.
I'm curious as to whether we now hold the mantle of Colliwobbles (or rather, the Carlton equivalent) due to our finals performances of recent years - and where many of our esteemed Yahoo Answers AFL experts believe the Blues are done for the year, before a final has been played.
We've lost the double chance, sure - but we haven't been knocked out yet.
What are your thoughts?
3 AnswersAustralian Rules10 years agoWho remembers the exploits of Richmond legend Maurice Rioli?
A sad bit of news over xmas, especially for Tigers fans of 80's vintage.
Today, Maurice Rioli has passed away.
Who remembers this brilliant midfielder - and what are your favourite memories of him?
RIP Maurice Rioli.

Silly season has started early, but this time it's the Saints who have gone marching into trouble at a nightclub. What sanctions should the club take?
7 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoNew clash jumpers. Does your team have or need them for next year?

The Blues have resurrected the dreaded M&M jumper for next year - this time with the Navy CFC.
2 AnswersOther - Football1 decade agoWill Patersons Stadium be a blessing for the Eagles, or will they suffer Patersons Curse?
For the first time in 102 years, Subiaco Oval, that stalwart of Western Australian football has had a name change, after a company named Patersons Securities was allowed to change the name of the ground as part of a sponsorship deal with the WA Govt.
12 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoShould the Umpires return to wearing white uniforms as they used to?
Hawthorn are putting in a complaint over the colour of the umpires uniforms after their match against Richmond today. (The uniforms were green, for the record).
With this, and the recent uniform controversy in last week's match between the Bulldogs and the Dees, should the umpires return to a white uniform - despite some teams having white clash guernseys at certain games in the year?
4 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoIs it just me, or are the Dees a little like the Tigers at the start of last year?
The game's just finished and the Dees pushed Collingwood to the limit, before the Pies won the game by a point.
I ask this because the Dees got belted like the Tiges in round 1 last year, but both sides nearly upset a far more fancied opponent (the Tigers nearly pipped the Cats before a late comeback) in the second round.
2 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoWas there a player for your team you dreaded shooting for goal?
Was there one player that had an unusual kicking action, or was just a bad shot - that you had playing in your team?
For me, it was Earl "the Duke" Spaulding - he had a very awkward kicking style, yet he was a beloved member of the '95 premiership team for the Blues.
18 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoShould Carlton change their nickname to the Boozers for season 2010?
This week has seen the Blues in trouble with the law and with alcohol - first Houlihan and Walker getting banned from Crown Casino, and this morning Eddie Betts gets arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

This is a poor reflection on the club and unacceptable for the sport's image - what are your opinions?
7 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoWhat is it about South Australian grounds that cause season ending knee injuries?
David Rodan of Port Adelaide is the latest training casualty that requires knee reconstuction after he was injured at practice.
Add him to the injury list alongside the Crows Andy Otten, and from last season Carlton's Jarrad Waite was injured at AAMI playing the Crows - what is it about the turf that causes the knee to collapse faster than Eddie McGuire's smile when Collingwood bow out in the finals?
5 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoThe AFL Rookie Draft has been completed. Do you think your side recruited well?
Carlton have added all new faces from their picks, but some clubs have gone for older, more experienced players, under the mature rookie rule.
11 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoIf you were an official at your favourite club, who would you recruit in the AFL pre season draft?
Only seven clubs are involved this year - but who would you pick to make your club the best it could be for 2010?
6 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoBlues fans - Cameron Cloke delisted. Will Carlton have a forward line at this stage?
I know he's been a bit probmental for Carlton, but he did play well against the Lions in the elimination final. Who should be full forward for the Blues?
7 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoWill The T-Wolves have a winning season this year?
I'm hoping so, but once more, with a revolving door trade period, Antonio Daniels asking for a trade or buyout before the main season - Kevin Love out - it's not the start we'd want.
I'm used to long seasons in Minnesota, as I've followed them from day one, but is there light for us at the end of the tunnel this season?

I just read about this on yahoo's afl section.
