For my job application (first one ever), it gives me an option to take a drug test in the next 24 hours, starting from when my application is submitted online.

I don't do drugs, and I don't plan to, so I have nothing to hide and have no worries in regards to passing the test. However, the 24 hour window might not work for me schedule or timing-wise. Plus, the information given before this option states that a drug test is mandatory only after employment has been offered, which I have not received.

So does this mean that, if I choose to opt out of this short-term-notice drug test, it just puts the test off until I'm offered a job? Or is it some sort of weird preliminary question that filters out possible applicants?

So I added STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl to my Steam games list as a non-Steam game, since I have the physical copy of the game.

However, I recently purchased a THQ STALKER Bundle, which comes with Shadow of Chernobyl.

So now I have two copies of Shadow of Chernobyl: one that is considered non-Steam and the other that is.

When I try to activate my Steam product code, it will not be accepted, so my original copy of the game is forever non-Steam activated.

Is there any way I can change this around, or activate my copy of STALKER? Should I just uninstall my actual copy and install the digital version?

I have a Sony EA series laptop and I just have a general question about upkeeping it.

When I play games with heavier graphics or processing requirements, like Mass Effect 2, the computer generates a lot of hot air blowing out the side fan. Regardless of this, the computer runs fine.

I was just wondering, is it better for my computer, say when I leave for 30 minutes, to turn the computer off completely so it can cool down faster, or put it on sleep mode?

I noticed that waking it up from sleep mode tends to make the computer generate more heat after waking up than turning it off and turning it back on later.

Just want to make sure I'm doing the most for my computer, answers appreciated!

I noticed there weren't any questions that answered this so I thought I'd bring it up.

I have the complimentary version of Norton via Comcast internet. I ran a few quick scans just to clean up some tracking cookies, but I noticed that there have also been entries that say: "Orphan Cookie Cleanup." It says that this problem has been removed, and this doesn't concern me as much as it puzzles me.

What exactly are orphan cookies? Where do they come from?

On my PC, I removed my free version of Adobe Reader for the Foxit Reader, and was very pleased with the results I got. Recently I purchased a Sony VAIO laptop, which included a free Adobe bundle featuring Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat.

Now, the reason I originally switched from Adobe to Foxit on my PC was the numerous errors, speed issues, incapability to edit pdf. files, and multiple malicious intrusion events from using Adobe's reader. None of these errors occured when using the Foxit reader, though I haven't tried editing pdf. files in Foxit yet.

Is it worth scrapping the full version of Adobe Reader and Acrobat for the more stable Foxit at the risk of losing the capability to edit pdf. files? I head off to college soon, and will this move put me at a disadvantage? If anyone has any questions, add them to your answer and I will update this description as necessary. I just cleaned my computer. Ends up I have three fans: One in the back, one in the power supply, and one I didn't know I had that was on my motherboard.

I cleaned the two exterior fans (not the power supply fan, since it was inaccessible. I did however, clean the outside), and turned my computer on.

I hear a fan running that never ran before. Could this be the motherboard fan? I never heard it working before. Does this improve my computer's performance or not?

PS: When I was using the compressed air, a blotch of the liquid air got onto the fanblade. I figured it would evaporate. Am I right, or should I check to make sure the liquid did not harm anything? Note that I am writing this on the PC I just cleaned.

So I followed this guide here to installing patches in order:

1.) Install 2142

2.) Upgrade to 1.4 patch

3.) Upgrade using incremental 1.4-1.5 patch.

However, when I use the incremental patch, it tells me that I have a more recent version of the game, but I've only just installed the 1.4 patch. Any help?

So I'll be upset about something, but an hour or two it'll pass in my mind and I'll be okay with it.

But my body continues to act upset. Like, my back will be a little stiff, and my legs feel like they need to be constantly stretched. They say mind over matter, but, my mind's done being upset, so how can I get rid of my body's reaction to emotion?

A lot of popular songs today are about guys who just want to have sex with girls, no love or prior knowledge of existence necessary.

So I just want to know what attracts women to these kinds of songs, since they blatantly go against how women want to be treated.

I'm not bashing any songs, BTW. I'm just curious. Is it just for the music and nobody cares about the subject matter?

My friend and the girl I want to ask to prom planned a night out on the same night as some church dance or something.

Anyway, the two of them had plans for dinner, go to the dance, and my friend was driving her around everywhere. He didn't know I was gonna ask her to prom, so that's not really an issue. My question is: what's the likelihood they went to the dance and dinner as just friends, instead of maybe something else?

I've seen ads for things like "Cach4Gold" and "MyCleanPC.com" on television recently, and after researching both sites I've found that they are both scams.

Is it legal for the companies to make commercials about this if their services are false? How is it allowable to trick unwitting people into scams?

For anyone who knows the law really well, I'm just curious as to how these companies can get away with it, and why nobody has done anything against this in the past.

My parents are sure they don't need any student loans of sorts for me to attend college, and I'm confident their right, yet I can't shake the feeling like I'll be missing out or end up not doing something critical to my future success in college.

Is the FAFSA a necessity, or is it perfectly normal/fine not to fill it out and attend college without having completed it? Will I be penalized for not filling it out, and will it decrease my chances of success in or in attending college?

I understand the benefits, but if I don't need or want any of them, will I be looked down upon by the colleges I apply to?

I'm trying to get this thing not to use stunts. Which is ironic because that's what it's intended for.

Anyway, I noticed that on test mode (or when the switch is on 1), the vehicle will have a short burst of speed, and then stop accelerating, but continue to move without flipping.

This only happens sometimes. Is there a way to enable this consistently in test mode? Or is there a modification or workaround to remove the stunting aspect of the car?

NOTE: I did get the non-stunt function to work for about 5-6 tries before it reverts back to normal. But whenever I switch out the liquid it seems to reset.

I'm using Stopping Power Pro with a FAMAS, and yet I am not getting the one-burst kills that should be happening.

Is it because the FAMAS is a weak rifle, and Stopping Power only bumps it to normal damage, or is Stopping Power underpowered?

And any other tips would be great. Thanks.

Yesterday I clicked the link for credit card payment, and the page loaded and everything was fine. My parents weren't available so I simply closed the page, logged out, and waited until the next day.

Well now I can't access the credit card payment page! Is there an error caused by my closing of the page? Has the blank form already been sent and counted as "payment?" No matter how I click on the "Payment by Credit Card" link (which is now on the right side of the screen, not on the left side table), it just opens up the same Common Application page, and not the third party site.

Help would be very much appreciated. Sorry if I confused anyone.

This problem has occurred for a few months now. Whenever I use my iPod, the battery bar never seems to go down more than halfway, despite the fact that eventually it will display the "No Power Remaining" screen.

Is there a way to get the bar diminish normally? Answers appreciated!

A while back, when the first Left 4 Dead demo came out, my video card got screwed up when I tired to play the game on Expert.

Now, I've since gotten a better video card (dont know how much better, but it can run plenty of games that have come out this year).

Still, is there any chance that this strange crash will happen again, or was my other video card just too old?

I have McAfee, and it does well by blocking the trojans by quarantining them. However, Acrobat still starts to load up.

If I just close Acrobat Reader with the Task Manager before it finishes loading, and remove the Trojans from McAfee's quarantine, have I successfully averted the attack?

A few years ago, I got a Hotmail Account. This was before the login page looks as it does now. In other words, before Windows Live became the primary system. The mail worked alright, but I liked Yahoo! better, so I never used it.

I decided after a while (a few years) to check on my Hotmail, only to find that the login and password I created my account with did not work with the new Sign-In page. It seems, because I did not download, use, or sign up for a Windows Live ID, I cannot access my Hotmail Email account despite having one just a few years earlier.

Any way I can access this account again? Answers appreciated! If you need any clarification, say so in the answer and I will edit the question as soon as possible.

Every few months, my school hosts this party for kids in the special magnet program (I included). I've heard rumors that there will be a NERF War at the next party.

These parties take place on school grounds, but after school hours, from 7-11 PM. So I was wondering: is it legal, or at least allowed, to have NERF guns on the school premises, despite the time?
