what should i do after i accidentally inhaled SO2 gas?
so, last period we had some chemistry practicals, and i was testing an unknown filtrate after adding a solution. we had to boil the boiling tube over the bunsen burner and test the gas:
yes, i know i should ''whif'' the gas in my direction, but the AC in the classroom was on, and i couldn't smell ammonia, which is what i thought the gas was (BIG MISTAKE).
anyway, i took a sniff (directly above the testube [stupid, i know, but i thought everyone else thought that it was ammonia [stupid, i know]]) and suddenly my head hurt so much!! i didn't spend alot of time with ammonia, so i couldn't really tell the difference between ammonia and anything else, in this case SO2. teachers described ammonia as ''a really strong smell" and THIS was pretty mind-wrecking as well. during home-time i asked a class mate about what the gas was, and she answered and said that it was SO2. so i was like like 'O.O *ohhhh dear..*
so just now i read on wikipedia that inhaling S02 can cause premature death. worried much? YES.
so, any suggestions on how i can get rid of this HEAD-ACHE i still have, and... not die prematurely?
plus, this happened about an hour ago, so it's a fresh wound.
yeah, so any remedies, tips? etc?
really appreciate it, thank u :)
P.S. i still love science, including chemistry, and without S02 we wouldn't have H2SO4 would we know?
oh and i think there is a slight burning in my chest,
still have a headache,
i think my throat feels a bit peculiar...abnormally dry.
but anyway, please DO help :)
