  • How to stop getting all flustered and become more confident around the person I like?

I'm going to start off the way 99% of these questions start off.... so there's this guy.

for my own personal reasons I'm just going to call him Jo.

So Jo and I go to school together, (Im 16 he's 18) we've known of each other for many years. He actually used to be pretty close with one of my good friends.. anyway

Jo and I both attended a school trip we had recently and he hinted to me many times that he wanted to know me better, we talked a lot, held hands a little and stuff and ended up asking me out. (I said yes because I really do like him) There are only a few problems.

    1. Im REALLY INSECURE

this guy is really popular at my school, loud, obnoxious and i feel like I'm completely out of his league. I'm kind of shy when you first meet me. My friends tell me that i shouldn't think this, that we would be a power couple if we actually ended up dating. We text a lot, but every time i see him in the hallway i find myself completely freaking out, face getting red, and i end up looking in the opposite direction. I find myself wanting to Impress him? I never even come close to having a relationship, and he's an expert in the subject if you know what i mean...

    2. I feel like we're going in reverse?

The first time we talked we both seemed really into each other. He asked me out, i said yes but it never happened. I'm terrified that me being shy is giving him the wrong impression. I feel like he thinks i don't like him. I DO. I just don't know how to show it.

    Help,

  • Field Hockey VS Cross Country?

Hi. I am currently a sophomore in High School going into my Jr. year. Since I was in 6th grade, I have played Field Hockey. I started Field Hockey because my best friend was trying out and my mom won the State Championship at the same school I go to for Field Hockey. I really enjoyed the sport, until 9th grade.

Around that time, my so called "friends" turned into slutty, bitchy girls. It's hard to enjoy a sport when you don't have anyone to talk to on it. Because I felt as though I couldn't connect with anyone on the team, I stopped going to practices as much as I had used to. So, slowly, they got better and I didn't. I have really hated playing these past two years, but I'm afraid to quit. I've been playing for such a long time and I feel like I would have wasted so many years on nothing. I really do love the sport, just not the team. They make me feel so bad about myself.

I am an amazing long distance runner, so I've been thinking about joining the XC team. I run about a 20 min 5k and I feel as though it could be fun?? (Not to mention all the hot guys in it). Would I regret Quitting field hockey??? I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out what to do. I'm not a terrible FH player, but the team sucks. I also plan to play a sport in college and a scholarship for a sport would be AMAZING to get! If you have ever been in this situation or feel as though you could help, PLEASE comment below! I've thought about this so much recently, it's stressing me out!
