  • Possibly teething, only 2 months old?

My son will be 2 months old on Saturday and the past couple of days he's been fussy more (but not a lot he's pretty mellow compared to most babies), drooling and making spit bubbles, and loves it when I rub my finger over his bottom front gums. My other son is almost 3 and I can't remember when he started teething. I just remember him getting an ear infection every time he started cutting a new tooth. My little one has also been running his tongue over his bottom gums constantly. When I rub my finger over his gums I feel a little bit of a bump but nothing huge. He's also been rubbing his face more, especially his cheeks along with sucking on his fingers when not hungry. Could these be signs of teething? It just seems a little early.

  • What are healthy ways to get rid of nausea?

I know that eating saltine crackers can help not throw up, but I don't have that problem. I just have really strong nausea throughout the ENTIRE day. When I eat, I don't seem to have the problem but afterward it's horrible. And when I wake up. Is there anything else I can eat that might help with getting rid of the nausea completely? I don't want to take any pills or anything until I talk to my doctor.

  • So, how accurate were your baby dreams?

I know that there is nothing linked between your baby dreams and your real baby, but I'm just curious as to how many were right. Like, how many of you dreamed you had a baby boy and you really did have a baby boy? Or vise versa?

I have been feeling sick for a while and haven't had my period and took a test this morning and got a BFP, and I must say I am really surprised. I'm trying to figure out the dates even though I know it is physically possible to be pregnant, just something my husband and I weren't exactly trying to do. I've had 2 baby dreams in the past week, and both of them were girls so this is why I'm curious. I'll be happy either way, boy or girl, but like I said, just curious.

  • Sharp pains in my breast not normal?

Since a few hours ago, I have been having a sharp pain in my right breast and it really hurts. It's toward the nipple and then it just sits there and sometimes it starts from underneath, almost like by my lower rib, but not every time. This has never happened to me before. From what I've read online (which I know if it's something serious that doesn't go away to go to the doctor and I intend to do that if this is still going on later) that it is more than likely a hormonal thing. I haven't been on birth control this month, my insurance needed to be renewed and the pharmacy didn't have it on stock right away so I didn't get it until 2 weeks into this month. I had unprotected sex, but I took Plan B in the appropriate amount of time so I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant, and this never happened to me during my first pregnancy. And today I started my period, I think, it could be spotting since there hasn't been a lot of blood. I'm sorry if any of this is TMI. There are no lumps in my breast at all and everything else is normal, so I'm sure it could be a hormonal thing. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the pain or try to ease it? If it's not hormonal would else could it be?

  • Taken 2 pregnancy tests both came back negative...?

Within the last two weeks I've taken two pregnancy tests, both came back negative. I've been having an issue with more solid stools, my nipples have looked different (they stick out more than normal and the area around them is darker), I have a hard time falling asleep at night, no period, and I've been cleaning like crazy (which probably isn't anything but ya never know), and I've been very gassy with a lack of appetite. Last night I woke up feeling sick to my stomach but didn't throw up. Now, all of a sudden, my face has turned dark red almost like I have a fever, but my temp is 98.4. My face feels warm to the touch. I do have a slight headache which can make my face warm but it's not a bad migraine like it would normally have to be. I'm not overly warm or anything, in fact I'm pretty comfortable. Could this be a pregnancy symptom? I know the other ones are, I've been pregnant before and researching pregnancy signs online. Otherwise, what could be going on?

  • When to test if you don't know when your period ..?

I don't know when my next period is and I've been SUPER crampy. Almost to the amount where I don't want to move at all. It starts on my left side, goes down to my vagina like a period cramp and then to my lower back. It feels like a period cramp, but every time I use the bathroom to check and see there's nothing there, just a little bit of discharge. I have had unprotected sex, my husband and I aren't trying to have a baby right now, it was just a spur of the moment, but if we were pregnant, we'd be thrilled.

When should I take a test? My bc has been wonky lately (long story) and I've had spotting before hand. Should I test now if this is implantation bleeding? Asking again because the last question I asked I didn't get much help. My first pregnancy I had implantation bleeding and this is what it felt like, I just don't know when to take a test.

  • Someone please answer right away...not sure what this could be at all?

I was walking down the hallway in my apartment to get my son out of his room. I had laid him down for a nap in his room but he didn't want to, he was standing up and crying, which isn't too much different from other days. When I walked past our side door I smelt something that smelt like blown out birthday candles but it made me feel sick to my stomach. I touched the door with the back of my hand (like they teach you in grade school to see if the door was hot) and it wasn't, so I opened it to see if the neighbors apartment downstairs was okay or if there was smoke down there. The smell disappeared and I couldn't smell it anymore. So I went and got my son out of his room and I could smell it strongly down by the back door. I quickly woke up my husband and asked him if he could smell it and he said he could as soon as he got to the doorway (he was asleep because he was up all night). We checked outside and there wasn't smoke, the smell wasn't there, and nobody was cooking anything at the restaurant next door.

So, before calling someone I am trying to find out what could possibly make this smell? Again, it has the smell of blown out birthday candles (or any candle) but it makes my stomach hurt and makes me feel like vomiting. But it's not in the whole house. We have a gas stove and I checked that but nothing was leaking. My dad is also a gas guy and I know what to look for and I didn't see anything.

Could it be somebody cooking in the other two apartments? I don't smell it in the first half of the apartment, just the back half in the hallway only.

  • I died my hair a long time ago, tired of the color, but don't want to use bleach?

I died my hair back in June to black, and I've done color oops to strip the black away and nothing has worked so far. I don't want to use straight bleach because it's a harsh strong chemical. Also, my friends hair started falling out while using bleach, yes she used a lot of it and often so that's why, but I don't want to take that chance. I just want my hair back to being light again. The color has faded but not completely with the color oops stuff. My husband used to peroxide his hair all of the time and he never had any problems with it. Peroxide is cheap and we have a huge bottle of it and I was just wondering if that would get rid of the color in my hair. My natural color is red. I wouldn't mind if it went blonde either, I'm not picky at this point, just want it light. If anything, I'd wait a while and dye it red later on.

If I did decide to peroxide my hair, my hair should be dry right? Just like regular hair coloring? That's the way my husband did it. I can't remember if he showered right away after either or not, but knowing him probably not lol.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your help! :)

  • Weird stuff is going on...Any opinions?

Ok, so to make this fast and simple as possible, this is what's going on:

Last month I was able to express some milk out of my breast and now it's gone away again

I'm on birth control but occasionally am late on a pill or forget one

This past period came 2 days early and only lasted four days, but it could be the birth control regulating itself again like the last time I was on it before my pregnancy

A few weeks ago and it's been off an on since then, I had super weird gas movements in my stomach...My husband put his hand on my stomach to see if he could feel them and he was super freaked out because he felt my stomach move....and I've never had a situation like that before only in pregnancy

I've been losing weight like crazy after I had my baby 9 months ago.

    I've been tired lately

My feet have been hurting too when I wake up in the morning

I've taken pregnancy tests but they came back negative

Our insurance is screwed up right now and I am planning on going and getting a blood test done because obviously something is going on. Is it possible to be pregnant and with my period when I'm not on birth control being so heavy that I'm not even getting my period when I should but just having random bleeding??? My friend has this issue and she has to get pregnancy tests done every month if she's sexually active because her body still bleeds every month on time, but it's not a period.

  • Constant heartburn that was never there before, tiredness, headaches?

So, last month I asked a question about taking antibiotics and then bleeding b/c stupid me forgot that antibiotics can cancel out birth control. Obviously my husband and I had relations otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question. I had spotting or my period. I don't know if it was my period though because when I do get my period now without being on birth control it's super heavy and I bleed through everything every hour. This didn't happen this time and was lighter than normal, but it was still pretty heavy considering. Kind of like my normal period before I was ever pregnant. Now, I've having heartburn, which I've only had 2 times before and it was when I was pregnant. I had to take a tums for it yesterday because it hurt so bad. I've also had headaches/migraines. I've gotten lightheaded and dizzy before (but that happened almost 3 months ago and is still happening but only if I move too fast instead of whenever I move period like when I was first pregnant). Obviously I'm going to take a test but I guess I'm confused on when to take it. On my birth control I'm on the second week of my birth control so my period isn't due for a while, but that's also how long my "period" was. Should I wait until the next time my period should be showing up when my birth control says or would right now be alright? Do you think even a test is necessary?

  • How many bottles a day should my 7 1/2 month old be having?

Right now my sons routine is this:

    Wake up between 7:30-8:30

    Diaper change

    Bottle 8 oz

    Play time

    Nap at 10am

    Wake up around noon

Play for maybe an hour to an hour and a half

Lunch which is a vegetable of baby food and some rice mixed with juice

Then play time for a couple of hours, sometimes an hour or two of a nap (depending on how the night went but he normally sleeps from 9/10 all the way through)

Then supper time when he gets fussy which is sometimes between 4-6 and I give him a fruit with some oatmeal mixed with 4 oz of formula.

My mom said today that he should be having around 3 bottles a day. He's never fussed for one except for in the mornings and he loves his baby food. I obviously give him water in a sippy cup throughout the day and he giggles and has fun with that and he even drinks it out of a water bottle or a regular cup too. I guess I'm just worried he's not getting enough, and he's eaten in this routine for over a month now and I just want to make sure he's not lacking in anything. He doesn't have another doctor check up until 9 months but they said at his 6 month appointment he was doing great!

  • Question about antibiotics and birth control?

At the beginning of my cycle I was told I had bronchitis and was given a Z Pack (2 pills very first day and then 4 more pills after that taken every day) and then some little yellow gelly pills for the cough instead of an inhaler. This doctor knows I have a child that I saw and he's not my favorite doctor and I have yet to get a regular doctor, b/c I normally never have to go to the doctor so my regular doctor became my OBGYN when I was pregnant. Well, she moved away for family reasons so therefore I don't have a regular doctor.

Anyways, so this doctor that I saw isn't my regular doctor but he's seen me before and knows my mom b/c she works at the clinic with him and therefore knows from my records and my mother that I have a child. So that means I'm on birth control. Now, I know that antibiotics cancel out birth control, I'm not stupid, but in this case just forgetful and confused. He never told me that I should be using something other than my pills during this month, which isn't ultimately his fault, but since he never said anything I didn't think of it. Plus, I'm still getting used to taking my BC every day after being pregnant. So, I was taking my pills and I got my period 4 days ago and it wasn't as heavy as it normally is. I used 1 super plus tampon the first day and after that I used pads. It was dark red and now it's done. I don't think I'm pregnant b/c we haven't had sex in a week and a half b/c of my bleeding and also b/c our mixed up schedules which suck. I know every pregnancy is different that's why I'm asking. Do you think I should take a test just to be safe even though I got my period (or what I think is my period)?

  • My 6 month old has diarrhea...bad?

My baby boy has been eating rice cereal with juice for a while now. And he's never had a problem. In fact, I hoped it would help him go to the bathroom easier, he's always had big hard turds instead of the looser stools. I breastfed for about 4 weeks and then had to formula feed. But even with the juice it was only sort of helping. But after he had 2 boxes of rice cereal gone we decided to try some baby oatmeal for him with some juice and he LOVES it! It's his favorite even more than the rice which he liked a lot. And now, his poop is yellow and runny and he's going anywhere from 2-9 times a day. He is getting 3 teeth and already has 2 teeth in and with the first 2 he just spit up (he was never a spit up baby until he started teething). He never got a fever or anything. But this time around he's fussy and I have to give him Tylenol at night to help him sleep. But I don't know why he has diarrhea. I've stopped giving him juice and began mixing his oatmeal with warm formula which he doesn't like as much and filling his sippy cup with water which he enjoys chomping on and spitting the water out (silly little man). If his diarrhea doesn't stop after his oatmeal is gone (he's only got like one more serving left, at most 2) then I'm going to take him to the doctor, don't worry I'm not neglecting him or anything. But the other thing that is confusing, is that he doesn't fuss about a tummy ache or anything. He hasn't had any Tylenol for his teeth in over 2 weeks and the same with juice. So I think it's the oatmeal but I'm not 100%...We're going to get some pedialite for him to see if that helps as well. Do you think it's just the oatmeal?

  • Ingrown Toenail question...sorry it's gross I know?

My two big toes are always getting ingrown toenails. I don't cut them short or anything. Just the white tips off like you're supposed to. It bothers me really bad when they get longish. But believe me, they're not short. But no matter what I do they always get ingrown and then puss comes out! I've seen stuff on youtube about getting that "surgery" done, where they numb your toe and then they put a toe cot around it and cut off half of your toenail and then clean it up and put an acid down there to make sure the root of the toenail never grows back down there. I'm just wondering if that's the only solution to getting rid of an ingrown toenail problem. I don't like them, they happen to me every time I cut my nails. And it's only on my two big toes which I have heard is the most common place to get them. I'm also wondering if it's hereditary. My uncle and my grandpa (on the same side, my dad's brother and dad) used to get them a lot and I think they had the "surgery" thing done, but I'm not 100% sure though.

  • First period after baby really heavy?

I finally got my period after having my baby almost three months ago...But the thing is, it's soo freaking heavy it's ridiculous and starting to creep me out. The first day I got it it was normal, but that night around eight o' clock I started leaking through a regular sized tampon. I thought I might have just left it in there too long but it wasn't the case, it was only in there for about two hours I believe. So having just moved I couldn't find my pads and my clean underwear so I just made due with the tampon. And I woke up after going to bed around nine o' clock around four and my pants were soaked and the tampon was completely filled. It was so gross. So I had to wait until the pharmacy opened at eleven in order to get some super sized tampons so just made due with my regular. After waking up at four o' clock I was changing my regular sized tampon every hour!! I was still soaking through when I'd change it within the hour. So I got some super sized tampons and worked (unfortunately that sucked) and then three hours after putting the super sized one in I was leaking through! I called and spoke to an OB nurse at the hospital I delivered at and she said ti was possible that it was so heavy because I hadn't had my period in almost a year, or that if there was any clotting that it might be left over placenta. I haven't seen any clotting and she said if it didn't stop then I should probably go in and if it was happening to her she'd come in to the hospital. After I spoke with her, I changed my second super tampon just short of 3 hours later and I was soaking through, not heavily like before but just starting too. There was some in my pad. So I decided to wait it out thinking that maybe it was going to stop. I changed it again at about nine thirty last night and took a shower trying to not panic. (The sight of all the blood was grossing me out super bad). Then, I didn't leak through much during my six hours of sleep, then had to work. Got off work at six thirty am then went home and took a nap. I changed my super tampon six hours later and was majorly leaked through. My pad looked like my normal period if I wore a pad.

I know this is probably stupid and I shouldn't be freaking out but my periods are never this heavy! I mean, they've been heavy before but they stop after a few hours and a regular tampon always did it for me, never a super. I've also talked to my mom about it and her periods are always like this she says but with a super plus tampon and it leaks through every hour. She has gone to the doctor for it and is on birth control and nothing really seems to help, and she says after having a baby things can change and go screwy with your body. I don't feel lightheaded or sick or anything. Just grossed out and kinda freaked because of all the blood I'm losing. I don't have bad cramps or anything, which is kinda odd but super nice. I mean, they're there sometimes but not bad.

Would you go to the doctor? Was this normal for you after the birth of your child? I just don't want to be stupid and go to the doctor for something that isn't a big deal...

Please don't be rude. You know what it's like to be on your period, all emotional and touchy and everything...

  • How long did it take you to get your period?

When did you first get your period after having a baby? I breastfed for a few weeks but due to complications could no longer do it. It's been over a month since then and I still haven't gotten my period and was just wondering how long it took you to get yours after having a baby if you weren't breastfeeding and if you were breastfeeding, how long after you stopped?

  • Had a horrible time at the doctors office yesterday...don't know what's going on?

Okay, so yesterday was my 6 week check up with my doctor after having a baby. It was going fine even when I was told I was going to get a PAP. Usually those things freak me out really bad because the last one I had the doctor (totally different doctor this time thank God) was really rude and short with me and had me in tears even before the whole PAP thing got started so then on the way home from the appointment I was crying. So anyways, I wasn't nervous because there are more painful and uncomfortable things right? lol Anyways, when the exam started, I was in so much pain!! She could hardly get the opener thinger (don't know the name for it sorry but the thing they insert to open up your vagina) in! She noticed I was really constricted and there was a lot of discharge (Sorry if TMI). I had noticed the more discharge but I normally have a lot when ovulating and I should be getting my period here again soon so I didn't think anything of it. She felt horrible because I was in so much pain. I couldn't relax at all and she hurried through the PAP and mentioned that she thinks from the looks of things I had Bacterial Vaginitis or something along those lines but she had to wait until the lab results came back. I looked up Bacterial Vaginitis and I don't have STDs or anything like that and I don't have any of the symptoms that they said and they said only a certain percentage don't have any symptoms. But I got a phone call from my OB nurse who had the lab results in from testing for that and said that I didn't have anything and that everything was normal but they were still waiting for the rest of the normal PAP results which have always been normal for me so I'm not worried at all. But I just don't understand how I was so unbearably tight down there. I haven't had sex with my husband yet since I delivered and had sex with him a few days before I went into labor and didn't have a vaginal birth but was dilated all the way. Could that have something to do with why I was so tight down there? I really don't know what's going on. I got the go ahead on having sex again but I'm so nervous that it's going to be unbearably painful that I won't be able to go through with it!

  • Repost in new section:I know no one on here is a doctor but what would you do?

I hate Valentines Day but tomorrow I won't be home so I won't be spending time with my husband tomorrow. Six weeks ago tomorrow I had a c-section. My discharge papers say not to have sex until six weeks. Well, that's tomorrow and throughout my pregnancy I was NEVER in the mood and I mean never. We only had sex maybe 5 times...my poor husband. Anyways, my next doctor appointment isn't until this Thursday. My question is: Would you wait to talk to your doctor about having sex again even though your incision is all healed up and you feel great? I haven't been bleeding for two weeks and stopped my pain meds a long time ago. I know there are quite a few women out there who have sex the week after they give birth but this is my first time having a baby and first time having major surgery as well so I'm kind of nervous. I'm sure it would be fine seeing as tomorrow is the six week mark but I'm so nervous with the surgery stuff...

I also know that this isn't about a newborn or a baby but I have a newborn and figure a lot of moms on here are asking about newborn baby stuff so that's why it's in this category :)

  • This is probably weird but...?

Before I got pregnant my husband and I never used condoms. We only relied on my birth control just because if I got pregnant we'd be OKay and it felt better without one one (duh). But since then I've been terrified of using a condom again because I'm afraid they'll snap or break and I'll get hurt from it breaking. Is that weird? And for those of you who've had sex where the condom breaks, does it hurt or can you not even feel it? This is just a random question just to see if there are others of me out there lol
