What if you replaced Britain with France and Belfast with London, would most English would support the IRA?
Imagine France occupied the South East of England. 300 years ago, for political reasons, France was asked to help with domestic infighting by lords of a few English counties. After occupation, all the jobs were given to French people and boarders were drawn to ensure a French majority in the South East. The rest of England was brutalized by French troops, all rights were removed and the population left in abject poverty. When asked, the French decedents voted to keep London and the South East as part as France and allowed English parties to be part of the political system knowing they would get minority support amongst the majority French population. Would I be mad to suggest 95% of English people would support an English Liberation Army. On this basis is it so mad that the IRA would rise to the fight for liberation and why a Real/Continuity IRA would still be fighting the battle. Am I missing a point about the IRA, PIRA, RIRA and CIRA?
