  • My sons wedding is getting out of hand!?

My son is getting married next summer and traditionally the groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner.

The bride to be is trying to control where, when and the price for a specific venue.

I have been conversing with the coordinator but my future daughter in law insists on knowing every detail of the conversation the coordinator and I have via email/texts.

My husband (who is my son's step father) and I will be traveling from out of town, paying for our Hotel stay and our wedding attire and now our future daughter in law wants us to spend close to $1,300.00 on the rehearsal dinner.

By the way, her mother didn't spend a third of this when she gave them an engagement party.

The food was made by her mother and family members and it was held at a friends house.

In an email response to the coordinator from me, my future daughter in law stated that if it was a burden, then they will pay part of the fee.

What can I do about this situation without upsetting my son and his future bride?

  • ESP or kind of scary event?

In April of 1990, I was in the basement doing the laundry and a voice said " you're Dad isn't going to be here much longer". My Dad had been suffering with mesothelioma 2 years prior.

Well on July 1, 1990, my Dad passed away.

In 2007 I would dream of my Mother's funeral off and on and how huge it would be.

October 25, 2008, my Mother passed away suddenly from a Blood clot in her lungs. She had retired from the Federal Government and came out of retirement to be our family doctor's receptionist and very active in her church and Auxiliary. Needless to say, her funeral was huge.

About three weeks ago, while I was sitting in my office, I again heard a voice that said "you're not going to be here much longer". Then on yesterday, I heard the voice repeat my destiny again. Has someone told you that they would die soon and it actually happened?

  • My deceased Aunt's Homeowners Insurance Lasped, what now?

My Aunt passed away and left me as the Executor. I never changed the Deed into my name but I paid her insurance under her name.

Recently I fell on hard times and was not able to pay the insurance and it was cancelled.

Now that I am back on my feet, is there anyway to obtain insurance under my name?

  • WHY CONSIDER TRAVELING BY AMTRAK AUTO TRAIN?

Has anyone used the Amtrak auto train to travel to Disney World?

If so, did you buy the sleeping rooms and how comfortable were they?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Should I be concerned?

I have never been on a Cruise before and my husband wants me to plan one for April 2010.

We live in MD. and the Cruise ship leaves out of Baltimore for a 7 day cruise, only.

I really didn't want to do a 7 day cruise, but it will be cheaper to do this cruise than to fly to Miami for a 3 day cruise.

Has anyone cruised for 7 days as their first cruise and how did you like it?

  • Is this friendship over?

My friend and I have been friends for over 33 years. I have always been there for her. When her Mother passed, I took off from work to support her.

My mother passed away suddenly last year and my friend did not attend the funeral or send a Sympathy card. She did however give her condolences when I had informed her of my Mother's passing.

I have invited her and her husband to visit with me and my husband on quite a few occasions (we live 2 hours away from one another), but she has always given me excuses why they can not, while my husband and I have visited with them on numerous occasions. I invited her to be my friend on Face Book in January, which she never confirmed. but yet she is on Face Book.

I usually call her on Thanksgiving to wish her and her family well, but I decided not to this time, because I feel as though this friendship is one sided.

My sister seems to think that my friend could be jealous because my husband and I purchased a newly built house last year and my son's have done well for themselves (one in Law Enforcement and the other is a foreman), while her oldest son is constantly in and out of jail and her other son is out of work and has moved back home with her and her husband. The last time I had spoken to my friend was about a month ago when I called her. When I spoke with her, she acts like everything is fine. I know that something changed and I know it is not on my end.

  • Hubby says that I am selfish. What do you think?

My husband gets 6 weeks of vacation this year. When I ask him where he wants to go, he says that he doesn't know. Then It's left up to me to plan.

For New Years Eve, my husband, my youngest son, his then girlfriend and I drove to Disney World where we met up with my sister, her family and my brother and his family.

My husband and I stayed with my sister and her family at their time share. The rest of my family stayed in nearby hotels. We had a lovely time and my hubby loved it.

Last month I suggested we go to Canada, since he has never been and I have been twice. I am a fan of the R&B group, Kool & the Gang and decided we should catch their show in Montreal in June.

Well, yesterday I noticed that they are going to be performing in a town just 3 hrs away from us in July. I told him that we would be able to see them perform close by and that it would be less expensive and that this could be my July birthday gift.

The first thing out of his mouth was "you are so selfish".

" You asked for a new house, you got a new house, you ask for a new car (he forgot he ruined my car by not letting it warm up in the winter before driving it to work) you got a new car, you wanted to see Prince, you saw him perform". "Everything you ask for, you get, you're selfish".

Everytime I want to buy him something he always tells me not to get him anything, but I do because I love him.

How can he say that I am selfish when he leaves everything up to me?.
