  • Tablet for father in retirement home with no wifi?

I'm looking to purchase an inexpensive tablet for my father who is in a retirement home. He has Parkinson's but can handle a touch screen. The home has no wi-fi. I will be loading games, books and hopefully music onto the tablet at my house with my wifi, but I need something he can use at the retirement home that has no wifi.

Any suggestions on a tablet? Also, any games he can play that does not require wifi?

Also, I'm looking to purchase a case like an otter box to prevent any damage in case he breaks it.

    Thanks!

  • Have you ever travelled from Paris to Mont St Michel in a day?

I'm trying to debate if this is even possible...

We will NOT be driving (gas is way too much over there) so instead, we will be taking the bus/train. Is it possible to leave Paris early in the morning, visit Mont St Michel for 4-5 hours then make it back to Paris before 10 pm? Do the metros run 24 hours?

Just curious. I would love to go but not sure if it would be possible. We will be there from April 6-11.

  • Need help with metro stops in Paris?

I have a map and two travel books. I just want to make sure I get the right stops so I figured I better ask first. :) What is the BEST metro stop with a short amount of walking (or scenic too) to the following:

    Louvre

    Musee D'Orsay

    Rodin Musuem

Sacre Coeur (I would love to avoid the bracelot guys at the bottom if possible)

    Catacombs

    Eiffel Tower

    Napoleon's Tomb

    Arc De Triomphe

    Versailles

*Also, what stop is it for the Bateaux-Mouche Cruise for the Seine?

    Thanks! :)

  • Need helping planning European vacation?

My family and I (two adults, one 13 yr old) want to tour Europe. We live in NC, but are willing to fly to FL, NY or IL for cheaper flights. (That's one of my questions!) We want to visit Paris, Amsterdam and Rome. Which is the cheapest airport to fly into and what do you suggest on how to visit each one? Eurorail is what I have found so far. Any advice on trips? Thanks!

  • Broken elevator. Apartment building of ballerinas, contempory and hip hop dancers. What to do with it? Go.?

I'm writing a fiction book. Three girl (one ballerina, one contempory, one hip hop) dancers move to New York. They move into an apartment building that also has a broken elevator. The doors remain open at all times, cannot close. Using your imagination, what would the dancers use the elevator for? Keep in mind, this is going to be a young teen book so keep it clean!

  • Dance steps for ballet, contempory and hip hop for fiction story?

I am writing a fiction story about three dancers. Its not a big part of the story, but a couple of parts, I want to include them dancing. I need some "steps" or dance moves that they may use in a performance. For instance an example of a ballet "performance" would be:

She moved gracefully into a grand jeté-to a écarté and then she did a bow.

(I just googled these steps, no clue exactly what they are)

All three dancers are females, but any dance moves from male partners as well (he held her up from a pilate then down to a whatever) would also be appreciated!!!

I need steps from ballet, contempory and hip-hop.

    Thanks!

    Help!

So you think you can dance- show aired tonight.

  • Trying to avoid a possible Spot Delivery Scam! Need advice!?

I bought a car this previous Saturday in NC. I was told I got financed, signed all the paperwork, including the binding contract that states the percentage, payment, down payment, etc. I did not do a trade in,but put down $1500. The dealership is now calling me, they have something to "discuss". I did my search and they are known for spot delivery scams. I called the finance company, they didnt get paperwork and I wont get approved until the dealer turns it in. I noticed the paperwork with the fiance info (I did not sign) has the wrong street addy for my home. I have not called the dealer yet and I want to be prepared on what to say. Should I contact an attorney first? I'm not sure if they are going to try to pull this scam on me or not, I'd rather be prepared. The finance mgr made comments at time of sale of my "income" and my "huge house". He must think I have extra money to spend so I became suspcious.

    Any advice????

  • My daughter loves the Spiderwick series. What else do you recommend?

My daughter is almost 10 years old. She's on a 6th grade reading level and loves the Spiderwick series. I just bought her "Noxies Song", the field guide and the chronicles of Spiderwick.

I want to get her another series of books that's similar to Spiderwick. Any recommendations? Has anyone read the Warrior's books (the series about the cats)? I thought about buying it for her but I'm not sure if it's something similar or even good for that matter.

    Thanks! :)

  • Help me talk to a mechanic...wheel bearing?

I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette that has a front wheel bearing that is about to go out. I was quoted for $477 plus costs for taxes and shop fees. I've been told this is a big time rip off considering this price quoted was for ONE bearing.

I want to call around but I really dont know what I'm asking for and want to know the "lingo" so I won't get another ridiculous quote.

    Help!!!!
