Liberal bisexual atheist. I know you hate me. It's okay. I'm used to it.

  • Is this statement as manipulative, victim-blaming, and bonkers as it sounds?

"People bully you X, but they bully you because you push them until they have to fight back."

Someone who s been a very clear and obvious bully and abusive friend to me said this to me when I finally called him out on it. Just this statement alone is a completely manipulative lie, right? I feel like any situation in which this would be said is automatically unjustified and untrue. In psychological treatment, patients are told that they deserve happiness and that their feelings are valid. I don t have a therapist but I feel like the statement this person said is a universal untruth.

  • What is a cost-effective way to ship large/abnormally shaped packages?

I bought 10 skateboard decks to paint and sell, but I move between New York and California for school, and made the mistake of buying them and having shipped to my school address. I'd like to be able to work on them at home over the summer when I have the most free time, but now I have a heavy box of large, irregularly shaped planks and I can't find a shipping solution that's under $50.

What does it mean that part of my subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford Loans were "returned"?

I checked the Loan Application History on my school's Financial Aid section of the student portal website, and saw that for my Stafford loans,

the Subsidized Loan amount (which is on my account) was $3500, but section says $5195 was "Paid" and $1732 was "Returned. The same happened to my unsubsidized loan amount (see pic).

My question is, where did this difference between the actual loan I received and what was "paid" come from? Who was paid? What was returned, where, why, and to whom? It would have been nice if I had actually received the amount "paid" as a loan, and I would like to understand where the decision came not to loan that to me.

  • I think my PSU is dead and needs to be replaced but I'm not sure. Certain LED lights are not coming on?

I have a PC 20/24 Pin PSU ATX SATA HD Power Supply Tester (here: http://www.amazon.com/SATA-Power-Supply-Tester-Blu...

I've been testing my PSU but I'm not sure about the results. This is what I got:

When connecting my PSU to power, the power supply LED light came on.

First, I plugged in my 24-pin motherboard connector and the LEDs that lit up were +3.3V, -12V, PG, +5VSB, +12V, and +5V, but NOT -5V.

Second, I connected the 15-pin SATA connector and no LED lights came on on the power supply tester.

Third, I connected the 4-pin motherboard connector and no LED lights came on the tester.

Fourth, I connected a 4-pin Peripheral connector into the HDD slot and no lights came on the tester.

I could not locate a floppy connector to test.

So I'm pretty sure this means I need to replace my power supply unit but I'm just looking for expert opinions because this is the first time I've tried to replace any parts of my desktop comp and I don't want to buy a PSU I don't need. Thanks

  • My laptop will connect to the wireless network but no other device in my house will.?

We haven't had internet in my house for a while and a few months ago subscribed to a satellite internet service (I don't know what the name of the provider is). After tweaking the pre-existing wireless network in our house quite a bit, I managed to get the laptop I'm typing this on (running Windows 7) to connect to the network, where before it had to be wired to the router. I don't quite remember what I did that got the laptop to connect, short of creating a new wireless network, because it was mostly repetition, trial and error. However, when I copied the network information to a desktop via flash drive, twice, the desktop (running Windows Vista) couldn't connect to the network. Most of the time the network isn't visible when I try to "Connect to a network" on the desktop. Sometimes it is, but it shows the broadcasting signal strength as nonexistent. Eventually I disabled the security on the network hoping the desktop would be able to connect then, when it was broadcasting without a password, but nothing changed. I attempted connecting the laptop and desktop with an ad-hoc network for short-term use, and that didn't work. I don't know what to do now.

Basically, even when at the exact same location, the laptop can run off a network that the desktop, even with all of the information for it, can't even recognize.

In addition, the laptop can pick up signals for (locked) wireless networks from around the neighborhood that the desktop can't. I wonder if this means that the desktop needs driver updates? But if so, why can't my phone or DS connect to my network with the correct settings, either?

  • My internet disconnects when the computer is inactive.?

I have a wireless Cisco/Linksys router connected directly to my PC. The connection is cable and pretty high-speed, about 23 Mb/s on average. The wireless connection works perfectly, though, for my Wii. The issue is that on the PC, whenever the computer is inactive for a while and the internet isn't actively in use, the network loses connection and the only way to reconnect is to either restart the computer or

    go to Internet Explorer,

where it gives the option to Diagnose Connection Problems,

Automatically get new settings for the network adapter "Local Area Connection",

then Reset the network adapter "Local Area Connection".

This whole process will take about 10 minutes with loading bars and everything.

I've already tried all the obvious solutions like resetting the router or even going into network settings and trying to reconnect to the network manually. I need a long-term solution because this has probably been going on for a little under a year.

  • Where can I find the "Warriors" commercial for America's Best Dance Crew?

It's that one where he says, "Can you dig it?!" My dad doesn't have cable and I want to show it to him, but I can't find it anywhere. I already tried YouTube.

  • Is there a site anywhere that offers free downloads of the font Wild Words?

See, I would really like to start a manga, but my handwriting is absolutely horrid and that would not go down well. Wild Words is the most popular and well-recognized font among manga artists, but I've only seen places where you can buy it, often for over $100.
