Forgetting things that happen between sleep?
I'm sure there is a term for this. Sometimes, I'll go to bed and somebody will wake me up for whatever reason and I can have conversations and walk up to my room, whatever, but when I go back to sleep and then wake up I don't remember any of it.
For example: Last night I fell asleep on the couch (I thought I had gone to bed upstairs). We had lost our cat a week before, but when I woke up (in my bed) and went downstairs, she was there. I asked my dad if she was at the pound and he told me about how he had already told me how she was found the night before and that I pet her and went upstairs then.
Again, I don't remember any of this, and this kind of thing happens all the time. Is this just me not being awake enough or is there a term for this?

1 AnswerSanté mentale7 years agoI can't really feel bad or happy for other people..?
So I'm having this issue that has kind of opened my eyes to how present that issue has been in my life. Before I go on, I'm not fishing for a diagnosis or anything. I just want to see others' opinions on the matter.
And now a little psychological background: In 2008, as a 12 yr old male, I was diagnosed with Major Depression Disorder. My therapist told me I was the most depressed kid she had ever seen. I mutilated myself and was very anti social until later on when I seemingly beat depression on my own. Of course things are still off but I can function in normal society at least, which is why my issue isn't that concerning to me and why I'm not seeking professional help.
The other day, my best friend told me that her great grandfather had just died. I didn't feel bad for her, I couldn't. My first question was "did you know him well?" but she did not react well to that question so I just said sorry for your loss, which was difficut to even type because it wasn't how I felt. The next day another friend of mine told me she was going to the hospital to pull the plug on her aunt. And again, I felt no sympathy. I just said "oh okay". This got me wondering why I didn't feel anything and why I had to fake it. I wasn't even phased when my own great grandparents died. But it doesn't end at not feeling bad for people or sad about death. I can't feel happy for my friends' accomplishments at all. I want to, but I can't even congratulate them on anything.
Thoughts?
1 AnswerMental Health7 years agoDo you know of any celebrations/festivals of more or less obscure south american indígenas?
I have to present a celebration/festivity/holiday of south american indígenas(quechua, aymara, etc..) or just latinoamericanos or hispanos in general. Of course, it can't be a well known festivity and by now it would be a good idea to choose one that the indigenous people celebrate., Muchas gracias
1 AnswerLanguages7 years agoA little french question about importer?
Bonjour,
I've used this verb every now and then but now I want to verify how to use it.. I know that the following is correct: "Il importe de faire attention à son apparence" and that means "It is important to care about appearences". Well, I would like to use it to say "That is not important to me". Could I say "Ça ne m'importe pas"? or would you use inquiéter somehow or some other method..
Also, how would you say "I don't care"? "Je ne m'inquiète pas"?
Merci de m'aider!

4 AnswersLanguages8 years agoI need to find a good program?
This summer, I really want to go on a trip to Spain or maybe France. I'm fluent in Spanish so I'd prefer Spain.. But I'm deep into French too, so I wouldn't turn down France. Anyway, i need to find a program here in Virginia(near Yorktown, or Richmond I guess) that isn't too expensive and is for about 2 weeks. It needs to be something I can get into(17 year old high school senior) and it must be this summer. So, does anybody know anything?
1 AnswerLanguages8 years agoEsperanto- worth my time?
English is my first language, but I'm also fluent in Spanish, French, and able to read Itaian... I'm learning German, Chinese, Russian, and finishing Italian. I've heard about Esperanto and how easy it is and I think it would be fun to learn, but I would never use it and I don't think I should waste my time on a language that will do me no good. I read that Esperanto is great for people who only speak 1 language so they can get past that language barrier and learn others more quickly... But my question is, would it still help me at all? Would it be worth my time and would it actually help a multilingual person such as myself learn any of the other languages that I'm learning?
9 AnswersLanguages8 years agoWould korean, japanese, or chinese be easier?
Which language out of Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin would be easiest for me to learn? Take into account all aspects of the languages.

1 AnswerLanguages8 years agoWhat do you think I should do about languages?
I am a high school student in AP Spanish and I plan on really working on atleast 2 other languages. I'm almost good enough in spanish to move to Argentina now, live there for the rest of my life and do great(Not my plan at all- just want you to know how well off I am with Spanish) so I'm going to try putting most of my language-learning attention on another language soon. I have really gotten into French. It has kind of been a side project for the past few years and while I'm not fluent, I have the strange ability to completely understand it when I hear or see it. So I'm probably going to go through with French even though some people say the number of people speaking, and therefore the usefulness of it, is declining.
I also have looked into Italian quite a bit and can understand it when reading it as well. The only issue is it is not a popular language and the point of me learning languages is to use them. Plus I don't see me moving there. The climate doesn't appeal to me...
So by the end of the time I have to learn languages (as you get older, that decreases...), i want to know 5 languages; English, Spanish, French and 2 more. I think German would be a good one to take on but I hear Chinese and Arabic, maybe Russian, are the most useful depending on what I want accomplished, yet there are too many dialects and I would have to move there to get them right. Plus, I don't see my future heading in that direction. And then there's Esperanto which i despise.. I guess that's because I spent all this time on romance languages and then a cheat code/language comes up for all those who haven't spent all of their time learning them the old fashioned way...
A little more info: I don't plan on moving anywhere east of Germany. I would like to live either here in the US, Mexico, Spain, or France. Maaaaybe Italy. My career plans range from music to psychology to linguistics... So what is your opinion for my next few languages?
Sorry for the large amount of info, but I figure the better you know me- the better advice you can give~
1 AnswerLanguages9 years agoI need some Vegan advice...?
I recently became Vegan for many reasons but those don't matter for this question... Anyway I have a few friends who have never seen a healthy Vegan, only sickly ones. I myself have only really known two healthy ones(the only ones I have known) but one is questionable... The other is great looking and he's been a Vegan for atleast a year. Anyway, my family will find difficulty adjusting to my new "diet"(not a lose-weight diet; just a diet). They do eat meat in every single meal unless it's soup.. and because of this I won't have many options for food for a while... and I'm afraid I may become an unhealthy Vegan. Any suggestions from healthy Vegans?
6 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan9 years agoWhy must we want what we cannot have?
For the longest time I liked this ginger guy-friend of mine and I always knew there was never a chance because he is straight. And I accepted that; I was okay with it. Months later- The exact day I start getting over him I start to like yet another one of my guy friends. This guy is super christian and would never be anything but straight, if that. he does support gays i think, but it makes no difference and it makes me so angry that I'm going through this AGAIN... Sorry to sound melodramatic. Anyway you can give me advice if you want(nothing wrong with answering just for the points), but I really just posted this because I felt like it. i guess you could also answer the main question: "Why must we want that which we cannot have"
3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoWhat are the endings for Italian conjugation?
Italian is the same as Spanish and French in the sense that they all conjugate by taking off the -ar -er -ir(in Spanish), or -are -ere -ire( for Italian), or -er -ir -re(french) endings and putting in something in its place that corresponds to the pronoun. So what do you put in the place of -ere -are -ire for Italian regular verbs?
