My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so ... yeah".

  • Canker sore and cheek/jaw/temple pain?

My top wisdom teeth are growing in, and I seem to have developed a nasty canker sore next to the growing tooth on the left side of my inner cheek. I though the sore was caused by the sharp new tooth rubbing against my cheek, but the pain is spreading through the entire left side of my face, up into my temple. Scale of 1-10, I'd rate the pain a 5 or 6. I plan on going to the dentist, but was wondering if anybody has any idea what this could be. Pain is the worst if I move my lower jaw to the right.

  • My boyfriend and I both smoke, but I want to quit?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 2 years, and we're very serious. He's been a cigarette smoker for the last 15 years, and I've been one for the last 8. He's a heavier smoker than I am...I smoke about a pack a day of Marlboro Lights, and he smokes about 2 packs a day of Newports (his poor lungs!!!). The time has come where we both want to quit...sort of. I have a serious love/hate relationship with smoking, but trust me, I'm not ignorant as to all the damage it has/will continue to inflict upon my health if I don't quit. Allow me to preface this question by saying: DO NOT give me a lecture about smoking or its effects. I know all of this, I've smoked for so long because I'm extremely physically addicted to it, and I want to quit. No excuse, blah blah blah. ANYWAY. So we've talked quite a bit about quitting together, and both agree that it's something we need to do. Here's the thing: I want to quit right now, and it's obvious that I'm ready to end my relationship with the cancer sticks. My boyfriend? Not quite as ready...he keeps saying that he wants to quit soon, but needs time to adjust to the idea, and isn't ready to quit immediately. So here is my dillemma: If I quit smoking, I WILL NOT be capable of being around him if he smokes/smells like smoke, which is not preventable as long as he smokes at all...the truck reeks, his long hair, clothes, everything. In the beginning stages of quitting, I won't want to be near him because the smell alone will tempt me, and after the first few weeks, the smell will disgust me. I want to quit, but I love him more than I can express and am scared of having to go through several weeks of being apart (I know that once I quit, he won't be far behind hopefully, but will still take some time). What can I do or say to him that might make this easier? I want to be a non-smoker and I want the love of my life to quit as well, I just know that pressuring him too much could backfire, because you can't quit unless YOU want to. Someone, please give me some advice...I will not ditch my boyfriend, but should I wait to quit till he does? Simply refuse to see him until he does? UGH. I'm going to quit regardless, but I need some help with how to approach this with my boyfriend. We smoke all the time, and I can't imagine what our lives will be like without them...obviously longer and healthier, but I just can't fathom sex without a cigarette after, smoking after we eat, while we have our best friend talks...our lives are filled with cigs!! Enough!!!

  • What's wrong with me?? (PICS)?

5 days ago, I woke up with a random blister on the inside of my upper forearm, with a little red mark about an inch away right on the inside crease of my arm. I figured it was a spider bite, so I went to the doc and he said he didn't think it was from a spider, but he really had no idea. The blister popped, and now I have a painful wound where the blister was, and the red mark has gotten slightly smaller and darker. I think what's frightening me so much is that there is no clear cause of this...no idea what created the blister in the first place, and why it doesn't seem to be healing (been cleaning with hydrogen peroxide and a band-aid with neosporin). I know the pics aren't great quality, but I'm hoping someone might have an idea as to what this could be. Thank you!!!

  • What's the truth about milk?

The dairy industry claims that (cow's) milk is healthy and nutritious (some even call milk "the perfect food"). However, there are other claims that milk can actually be detrimental to your health...so what's the truth? And if it is healthy, can it really aid in weight loss?

  • Supplements for smokers?

I'm a 22 y/o female smoker (PLEASE don't answer this question with a lecture about smoking, that's not why I'm asking this question), and need some information about any additional vitamins or supplements I should be taking. I know the basics (vitamin D, folic acid, fish oil, etc.), but wondering if I should be taking any ADDITIONAL vitamins/supplements because of the toll that the chemicals in cigarettes are taking on my body?

  • How to break fast food addiction?

I'm lucky that I have a fast metabolism (I'm on the curvy side of a normal weight but should be obese), because I eat TONS of fast food (at least 5000 calories/day) and can't seem to stop. I feel gross and tired all the time, yet my will power is practically nonexistent. I get almost panicky if I'm even the slightest bit hungry. I need to stop eating so much but I just can't seem to go even a few hours without eating much more than I should...I know how to cook but I rarely do, because as soon as I feel any hunger I feel like I need to eat IMMEDIATELY, and don't want to deal with preparing food. Never feel completely full no matter what I eat. How do I build some self control and break my addiction to fats and sugars?

  • Weird feeling in gums?

It's like a cross between itchy and needing to bite down on something, very hard to explain. I read somewhere that itchy gums can be an indicator of poor oral hygiene (gingivitis), but I brush my teeth 2x a day with an electric toothbrush and my dentist says everything looks normal. I should also add that I'm a smoker. This is seriously driving me nuts and I have no idea what it could be.

  • Best way to treat keratosis pilaris?

I get those annoying bumps on the back of my arms and on my upper back. They drive me nuts and it's hard to resist picking at them. I exfoliate with an exfoliating pad and a body wash containing salicylic acid daily, plus I moisturize with aloe/cocoa butter but I STILL can't get rid of them! :( What's worked for you?
