  • Car having serious problems running, turning, and overheating? Help?

Okay so this car is old, a 1996 Dodge Intrepid, and the only reason I am trying to get it somewhat working is so I can have reliable transportation again.

About two weeks ago I drove home like I always did and the next day (with perfect timing) my car decides to have issues. I started it like usual and when I tried to turn it was like my steering fluid was leaking again, it was HARD to turn. I know it wasn't though because I literally just got a leak fixed a month ago (very bad leak). The battery light came on and five minutes later the car overheats and I then realize my AC wasn't working either.

I checked online and could it be my serpentine belt? I got it replaced in March, along with a new battery and air filter, and it was fine the whole time. Could it have been the leak? The steering fluid was leaking, actually spraying out and hitting a pipe making it look like my car was smoking, for almost two months straight before I could finally afford to get it fixed. Then about a month later this happens??? It seems so weird that it's happening now so long after.

I would get it checked out but thats about $90-$100 I don't have just to get it towed there, looked at, and towed back to my place. So I need some advice from here.

I'm not a mechanic or huge car guy but if it sounds like a DIY possibly fix, then I'd LOVE to be told how because I simply don't have the funds.

  • My tire size is 225/60/16R, can I use 215/60/16 tires?

I am in need of new tires and someone offered some 215s. Can those work for my car, as long as I use a pair in the front? (Car is front wheel drive).

  • Question about my hymen and sex?

So I just had sex for the first time two days ago. I was really into it and he was really gentle and built me into it and I was really turned on and aroused. So what bothers me is the fact that there was like no blood. Like a tiny bit an hour later, when I went to pee, but not a lot. So today we went and had sex again, this time me starting off on top and it was a quickie, and I bled a lot more. Like there was blood on the condom and I basically peed out blood. Afterwards it was back to normal and there was no blood.

So now I'm wondering if it is possible to not break a hymen the first time. Like he is pretty big and we pretty much thought I had maybe tore it when I was younger, seeing as I was an incredibly active kid and always outside (then doing sports as I got older), since there was nothing. But this time there was and we're both confused... So I'm in need of some advice.

And while we're on the topic of sex, now that I've done it when should I go see a gyno? I'm 19 but was told to wait until I've either had sex or turn 24, whichever came first. So should I wait a while and go, make an appointment asap, or just wait around until I go for my usual breast exam?

  • Is there any way to make veins bigger?

Im 127lbs and 5'6 and, due to a small frame and genetics, I have small veins. So small I cant donate plasma, but am allowed (and frequently have) donated blood. So is there any way to make my veins bigger or just big enough to donate plasma?

Like they claim they dont want to hurt me, so I am literally indefinitely banned from their system online due to a "vein deferment" and have to go in to see if its even possible.

  • How do you lower a deductible? Is it even possible?

This is my first time shopping for health insurance and I'm a bit confused about deductibles. From what I understand, a deductible is how much you have to pay before insurance kicks in but your monthly bill doesn't count towards it. So I figure there's no use for me to then pay a high *** monthly bill just for a lower deductible I know I will only have half paid by next open enrollment, as I rarely go to the doctor. Yet the lowest costing option, that is easily affordable for me, has a crazy high deductible! Either I pay $300 a month for a $1,000 deductible, $250 a month for a $3,000 deductible, or $150 a month for a $7,000 deductible. And knowing me, and adding it up, I'd only have a good $1,500 paid off by next year as I usually go once a year (for breast exams) and this time went three times due to damn infections which is incredibly rare with how I am. The ones I could afford would be the $250 or $150 ones as I don't make a lot and have to pay rent, bills, and car insurance as is.

So besides purposely getting myself sick and infected and going to the doctor more often than I need, how can someone lower a deductible?

I also know there's cheaper insurance and I qualify for financial assistance, but I really like this company as they're literally the only one in the entire state that covers what I need AND want covered. They're actually the only company in the state that covers my want without having to go too far and sacrifice my needs.

  • Is it better to buy a new laptop or upgrade it myself?

I want a new laptop and will have enough to buy one. I'm planning on upgrading it so it runs better, but can also buy one.

So will it be better for me to buy a whole new one for around $750-$800 or upgrading my current one by hand? If it helps it's for gaming. Particularly Sims 3, Skyrim, and Anno 2070 (Which currently just doesn't run on this computer anymore!) Don't judge me, I like weird games.

  • Do I have bronchitis or just a bad cold?

I never get sick so this is really bothering me. I ve been coughing non-stop for a week now. Just recently all mucus, when I blow my nose, is green. My nose has been consistently running and I m coughing so bad I can t sleep normally for almost a week now, I ve been getting only 6 hours of sleep daily. My head has been killing me too.

I ask here because my insurance might not cover me going unless I really do have bronchitis and get a prescription, I have no money to pay otherwise.

  • How long should it take to get a Car Title?

I bought a car on Feb 26th and STILL haven't gotten the title transferred. I bought the car from a guy and he gave me the title the second we traded cash. Went to the DMV the following Monday, as it was a Friday.

Late April I got the transferred title, in my name and everything, but it was in my OLD name. I took that thing to the DMV the next day and am still waiting for the title in my new legal name.

It's now almost July and I haven't gotten the new title. I only have the temporary title and I'm a little worried that I haven't gotten my new title. Like I know everything in Minnesota take forever to get, (ID/Drivers License taking a month) but this seems a bit extreme that I'm STILL waiting and it's almost six months since buying the car. Like I want to buy a new car in September/October and I can't until I get the damn title.

I did have an insurance lapse, payment issues from lovely Progressive, so could that be why it's taking so long to get it from the DMV?

  • Would my credit score be high enough for an auto loan?

I am looking at cars, not buying currently but will be in a couple months. I know I'll be buying it off CL since leasing it would be detrimental for me, as leasing it means I'll need full coverage and insurance is crazy high as is for me.

Ignoring the city and state I live in, would a credit score of 620 (for example) be good enough for a simple loan? Now I'll admit I don't know much about how much the car needs to cost to qualify for a loan or the lowest loan I can get at my age (I'm 19). I have my own credit card, no cosigner if that's worth mentioning, and have only carried a balance once as I bought a gift with it. I've only had one ticket and that was from a parking meter, so I don't think that's counted as a ticket but if it is then that's it. Too broke to be getting pulled over for stupid ****.

Now I'm looking at getting a car for my birthday as a gift from me to me, which will be next year basically. And that's saying my car will last that long. So with all that said, would it be high enough or should I just buy the car in full and avoid the rest?

  • Question about money being sent to Paypal account?

I am used to spam messages and usually ignore them, yet check them as well to be safe and report spammers. Today, however, was weird and I'm actually concerned.

I got the usual "check your paypal account" message, despite me never using it anymore. When I did check the email it says someone sent me a large sum of money (at least by my standards) and it's being reviewed.

The email lists the senders name, address, city, state, and zip code. When I checked this online the information all adds up to the said person, who is a Child Psychiatric it says.

Now should I just ignore the email, however, or call this person up on Monday to explain the situation if it hasn't resolved itself? It looks a bit real(ish) but I'm not risking it by clicking links, you know?

  • How much will a turn signal cost?

My right turn signal broke off while I was getting the car washed (it was already bad in the first place) and I need a signal light. Just the yellow part as the actual headlights work. And the wiring is mostly fine, just the bulb missing as well as the light itself. It's a 96 Intrepid, by the way.

  • Can you read messages using a SIM card?

Like if I were to take the SIM card out and stuff, can I read messages that the phone recieved but I never opened in the first place? Same for calls.

Not going through peoples stuff or anything, just stupid me broke my old phone. I got a few messages and calls and am more curious than anything to see what the contents of said messages were. I still have the old phones and SIM cards. I'd sell the things but seeing as how there's sensitive information on both phones, I'm just gonna keep them until I can at least wipe it clean.

  • How come I don't feel guilt or embarrassment?

I don't really feel guilty or embarrassed about things anymore and it's starting to kinda bother me. I plan on bringing it up with my therapist, but that won't be until Tuesday so I'm stuck until then.

Now what I mean is I really don't feel it anymore. If a girl turns me down, for a date or telling me she likes me as a friend, I don't really feel hurt. If I fall on my longboard and a lot of people saw it happen, I get up like it never happened, check if I'm really hurt, and hop back on it. If I get in trouble, high school especially, I take it. I know what I did was wrong and I accept that I am in trouble and don't really care. Like I'd ditch class, get sent to the deans, and just say something like "Yeah, I ditched. *give reason*. What's my punishment?". He even let me choose because he knew I'd be fair to myself and say, "3 days of lunch detention?" or "ISS cause this happened last week."

Either way I don't feel as guilty or embarrassed as most people my age do about these things (19 btw) and I feel it might tie back to my childhood and past. Until I can see my therapist about this, any possible ideas as to why things that should leave me embarrassed or guilty only leave me thinking it was a mild inconvenience to my life.

  • Car key replacement question?

I somehow lost my car key and am need of a new one. The car is a simple 1996 Dodge Intrepid. When I looked online and saw a key that looks the exact same, difference being it's blank, for $11. So is it possible to just take a blank key in and get it done? Otherwise it's $60 through a locksmith and even the towing guy who unlocked my car said it should cost about $40 or less. I really don't want to be charged more than need be.

I was also told I can call a dealership for a new key, but I bought the car from someone off CL. I have a temporary title and my official one won't be in for another month most likely, I live in MN so if this is odd it's not my fault everything official takes at least a month to get here.

  • Why do people ignore mental/emotional abuse?

Like I come from a terrible household. My mom was a single mom and not a hardworking woman, a lazy piece of ****. My grandmother hates my brother and I. My brothers a different dad than I and their dad is out of the picture, mines making appearances when possible. With that said, she never really hit us but her and our grandmother make frequent remarks on how we're useless, stupid, idiots, not worth money, and ignored? Then when one of us attempts suicide, aka ME at 14, NOW it's "Oh we loved them, how could this have even happened?"

At 19 I am not living a good life and this is something that bothers me. Especially when I bring up my issues with my mother, as I can comfortably say I hate that woman, they tell me I should be grateful and I LAUGH. She's done nothing most of my life except makeme feel like **** and drink. At 15 my brother is being told he's a dumbass and pretty useless, as well as his art skills (but I think they're great for a boy his age).

Why is it that the way we're treated, and I think it's neglectful to be honest, is passed off as us complaining just because we're not hit? Why is it okay that we're told damn near daily that we're useless members of society? Why is THIS **** okay for parents to do and when we, the kids receiving the treatment, bring it up we're doing nothing but complaining because "it's not like they're hitting you"? But when we develop mental health issues, it's nothing and our fault?

  • Is this a safe way to build credit?

I recently got accepted and approved for a credit card, and have a plan, but want to think about it before putting it to action.

Do not ask how or why or where, but my phone bill will be $76/mo. If I bill it to my credit card, with the ability to pay it off, does it show as me paying off the balance or buying **** and paying it off at the first of the month?

Like I can afford to bill it to my debit card, but figured that if I'm going to try building credit why not put it on that?

  • Is it legal for a parent to hold on to and open your mail?

I'm 19 years old and do not live with my mom anymore, and I haven't for almost a year. However I still get some mail there and only recently got my address changed to get mail forwarded to where I'm at. With that in mind, is it legal for my mom to still just open my mail or not send it? Especially bank information I get sent there, like my debit card and credit card (which I suspect she is just not sending as I should have gotten it a week ago). She also goes through EVERYTHING I get, and sending it only after she's gone through it and/or sending it months after I've received it.

I've brought this up several times, going from nicely asking to flat out telling her to ******* stop going through my stuff. Since she doesn't, and hasn't since I turned 16, pay any of my bills I think she has to business going through my ****. My grandmother, on the other hand, has full permission from me as she actually has been, and still does when I need the help since I turned 18, pay my bills.

Either way, since she won't listen, is it legal and possible for me to take legal action or whatever? This also includes my birth certificate, something she is knowingly hiding from me because she's bitching over my gender stuff.

  • Should I go through a credit union?

I am looking into credit cards and got accepted for one from the bank I currently go through, but someone suggested I go through a credit union instead since it seems "very odd that I pay an annual fee" (its a secured cc with no co-signer and my first credit card ever if that matters). So what is the difference and which one would be better for me? I'm simply a young guy looking to build credit and have someone to put my money, since I never carry more than $20 cash (I ride buses and like to use cash at the gas station).
