  • What is Partial Disability?

I just talked to a Social Security expert from a local law firm and they told me that in order to get Social Security Disability Benefits you have to prove that you are COMPLETELY disabled, as in can't even be a security greeter at the door at Walmart. I thought there was such a thing as Partial Disability. I am a welder/fabricator with a non work related back injury that prevents me from standing for more than 15 minutes. Does anyone know how to make the transition from a skilled trade to a job where you sit? I'm not looking to cheat the system in any way ( I'm a tax payer too !!!) I just have no idea what to do??? I feel totally helpless. I see people working "under the table" and collecting Disability but they're telling me " Good Luck ". I'm 38 years old and have paying into Social Security since I was 14.

  • Hydrocodone Withdrawals?

I've been taking Hydrocodone ( Norco 10/325 ) for 10 months due to severe back pain. I had Lumbar Fusion surgery 8 months ago. I was taking 5-6 a day. I quit taking the pills cold turkey about a day and a half ago and I am definitely feeling the withdrawal effects, i.e. freezing cold but pouring sweat, runny nose, no appetite and extreme anxiety. I would like to know how long I can expect to feel this way based on the amount of Hydro I was taking and what I can do to alleviate these symptoms.

  • Which 2012 Silver Eagle do I buy?

Out of all the 2012 Silver Eagle's which one is most collectible? West Point, San Francisco, mint mark or no mint mark, DCAM, the list of variations goes on. I understand that a MS-70 grade is better than MS-69, 68, etc. I just don't know about the other stuff. The price range surprises me as well. The Silvertowne website has 2012 Eagle's from $34.00 on up to $96.00 or more. What kinds of things do collectors value in coins of this type? I'm new to coin collecting and would appreciate any help understanding the finer points of Numismatics. It's important to note that I am not purely interested in the coins as an investment, as a rule I invest my money in other ways. I would, however, like to avoid buying coins that don't hold their value. I mention this because the last time I posted this question the two people that answered just told me I was stupid for investing my money on coins, which meant that they completely missed the point. I just want to be clear this time.

Normal meaning $5 or $10 bucks per ounce for fine silver and $400 or $600 per ounce for fine gold.

  • T. Rowe Price Retirement 2040 Fund (TRRDX)?

I recently started contributing to an employer matched ( 100% up to 4% of my base pay ) 401K Retirement Plan. The plan is the T. Rowe Price 2040 Fund. I don't know a single thing about investing money and I don't have the money to pay a pro to advise me. I was wondering if anyone out there has a nose for this kind of thing and, if it's not too much trouble, let me know if the fund I'm in is as good as anything else out there or if there are better ways to invest for my future. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • How long does back child support stay on your credit report?

I know some things fall off your credit report in 7 or 10 years and was wondering if the same thing applied to back child support. The original amount for me was 50 thousand dollars and I've been paying it off for the last 3 or 4 years in the amount of $200 a month. As you can see, that's over 20 years to pay it off. Is that how long the past due amount will stay on my credit report? Or, will it fall off in a few more years despite the fact that it won't be paid off yet? Also, currently I'm paying $425 a month for CURRENT child support in addition to the $200 BACK support. My son turns 18 in a week. So, unless he goes to college, current child support should be over. Will I have to pay the same $625 a month towards the back support or will it drop to only $200? I am a 37 year old male living in Missouri. And yes, I know I should have paid the support 13 years ago when I was supposed to so yelling at me for that isn't going to help. :)
