  • Panasonic MCS 2500 turntable won t spin at 45 RPM, is there any way to fix?

Just got the thing from an antique store. It s a belt drive but not a belt issue. The 33 setting works fine, but when set to 45, the motor simply won t spin. Sometimes it will begin to spin for a just a second and then stops. What s wrong, and is there anything I can do about it?

  • What causes the tape in an 8-track to be eaten?

I am a novice 8-track collector. So many of the tapes I get end up being eaten. They play well for a while, but then I hear the signature sound, and run over and pull the tape out. But it's too late: a mile of tape has been pulled out of the cartridge and is now tangled up in the player.

What causes this? Are there different things that can cause this? What can I do to prevent it?

  • What song sounds like "No More Tears Left To Cry" by Lesley Gore?

There is a song I have in my mind that I was reminded of when I heard that song by Lesley Gore. Problem is, I can t think of a single word from the song. When Lesley says "No More Tears" in the chorus, the melody sounds very similar to this song. I m thinking it was by a girl group from the 60s.

  • Defective copy of Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson Lake & Palmer?

I came across a vinyl copy of Emerson, Lake & Palmer's "Brain Salad Surgery"....

But when I went to play it, I came to find that the labels on the record aren't matched to their proper sides- the side that says "Side 1" is actually side 2, and vice versa. Was this something that was done on purpose for whatever reason, or do I have a defective copy?

If it's a defective, is it rare? Worth a penny extra maybe?

    The barcode says SD 19124

Seems to be a US reissue from 1977

    Thanks

  • How can I maintain energy for an after-school sport?

I'm a sophomore in high school, and am soon joining the rowing team. Normally when I come home from school, I am really tired and I take a nap. But soon I am going to be required to go to 2-hour rowing practices directly after school each Monday and Wednesday. How can I get the energy I need to perform well right after a long day at school?

  • Difference between Dolby Digital 4.1 and DTS 4.1?

I am rather uneducated with things like this, but I believe that Dolby Digital 4.1 and DTS 4.1 are types of surround sound.

Will someone please explain to me what each of those things are, and what the main differences between them are?

Also, if applicable, which one is better quality?

    Thank you!

  • Where can I find an Audio DVD burning program?

I need a program that will burn Audio DVDs (DVD-A). It must be compatible with the extensions .vob, .aob, .ifo, and .bup

Note that DVD-A is a particular format, and is not supported by Windows Media Player or other typical programs of that nature. What I am looking for must support the burning of Audio DVDs and all of the file types I listed.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

  • Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side Of The Moon" DVD-A quadrophonic mix?

I am, of course, quite the Pink Floyd fan, and I recently came across the existence of a rather intriguning mix of the Dark Side Of The Moon. This is an audio DVD (also known as DVD-A) transfer from the original quadraphonic mastering of the album by Alan Parsons.

Does anyone know how I could get my hands on a copy of this in any way?

  • Help on working with Audio DVD files?

I am extremely unknowledgable at this sort of thing, so please bear with me... I have a series of files from the Internet that (allegedly) come from a DVD-A. There are 23 files total, with a size of 3.4 GB. The labels are things such as "Audio_TS/ATS_01_AOB".

    I would like to know

    1) What exactly am I dealing with here, and how can I listen to the audio

    2) Is it possible to burn these onto a recordable DVD of some sort? If so, how can I manage to do so?

Like I said, I really have no clue what I'm doing, so any help whatsoever will be appreciated!

  • Eminem-The Marshall Mathers LP cover artworks?

Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP has two distinct covers, as we all know. One dipicting Eminem sitting on the front porch of his childhood home; the other showing him curled up in front of some dark building....

There is also two different track listings (One contains the track "The Kids")

What I need to know is which cover matches with which release, and which one was the original release

    Thank you!

  • I need help figuring out what this classic rock song is...?

We all hate those people that come to this website and say that they want you to answer their question about a song, when all they know is a tune. I always think "do you really believe someone's going to be able to help you with this?"

    But yet, now I'm one of those people!! I have a part of this classic rock song stuck in my head, and I have no clue what it is, nor do I know any words in it. The closest I can come to describing the tune is "do do do do do dododododododo". I'm not too great with instruments, but I am pretty sure that that sound comes from some type of electric guitar. {as for that large group of 'do"s at the end, consider each 'do' to be a separate note, but they all flow together}

For some reason Gerry Rafferty comes to mind (no, it's not Baker Street), and so does Steely Dan and maybe even the Rolling Stones.

In the unlikely event that someone can actually help me, I would be soo happy! It's driving me crazy!!!
