Ok, I need some schooling here on how to get outside access to IP Cams & stuff like that. I'm pretty tech savy, even built my own patchers & stuff like that before. But when it comes to this networking stuff, i'm overwhelmed with so much info I don't know where to start, and when I try to find a starting point the resources i'm finding just dive right in assuming it's common knowledge to know how to port forward, ftp, vpn, apn & all that crap. Can anybody....anybody....start from the beginning? Tell me what service I need to direct my attention toward? Once I get a direction & know where i'm supposed to be headed, then I can figure it out.

I have a software cd that doesn't have a license keycode or anything, so I wanted to share it with a friend. I made the .iso with cyberlink power2go 9 software, then when I went to put it on another cd, it was too big. I thought it was supposed to be an exact replica, but the image is somehow bigger. I have done this before with this same program, but now it won't work & i'm using the same cd's I& everything, they're rw dvd's 7.2GB size I believe

Once the program has been patched, can you remove the patcher? It's jobs done after that point, right?

I've got a friend who worked under the table & was paid cash by a DBA business that started up earlier this year. They reported $5500 on a 1099-MISC form which is absolutely absurd, more than triple his earnings. What procedures does the IRS have for addressing this discrepancy? It's quite obvious that he was an employee as well, not a contractor. On that subject, I did give him form SS-8 and Form 8919 to address that concern. He had already received refund from the previous return before they actually got this 1099 to him. A big concern is going to be the penalties involved, plus the obvious overpayment he received, any insight?

How the heck do I contact someone from any friggin Microsoft or any other subcategory of the parent company that will help me retrieve a code?

I refreshed my pc, then I lost my validation on it. So all my tiles & everything on my 8.1pc don't work anymore, they say to send for a code, but they never email me any friggin code. I type in a search online & boy do they put on a show front that I can contact them, it's all a friggin smoke screen!!!! how the heck do I actually get a real person on the stupid phone or by email or ANYTHING other than this stupid crap

I wanted to use the remote desktop feature on my windows 8 laptop & sync up to my other PC's throughout the house. When I do, they fail & it took a bit of effort to find out that I have two NAT's & that's the problem according to the troubleshooter. To be clear, I have no flippin' clue what a NAT is. I've got an intel i7 dell laptop running win8 & an i5 running win7 dell desktop also a piece of crap acer on win7 as well, two kindles, two ps3's, and one Bluetooth phone, plus whatever my friends have on my guest network. I have dsl service, but no gateway, I have an ADSL+2 modem & a router that broadcasts 2.4 & 5hz (I think) on two separate networks (home & guest). If any of this just pops out & says 'hey there's ya problem right there"......by all means, do tell.

I'm trying to assist my father in-law who pretty much has nothing to his name. There's not much chance that he's even going to be denied the first go-around with the SSA (whole lotta serious problems).

I'm confused about something, I would assume that when you get on disability about it is having medicare so you can go to the doctors. Then I find that it takes 2 years of being on disability to get medicare, and there's a 6 month waiting period for benefits. I'm really stumped here because it pretty much sounds to me that if you become disabled your screwed. How does someone who can't work & earn income pay the bills, and how can they get medical attention? I mean he's disabled for a reason so....somebody? Anybody?

Damaged original hard drive so I took one that I had used for movies to watch on PS3. I wiped sectors all zero's & formatted to NTFS (it was fat32). Put the drive in, along with a win7.iso then proceed to install & I get bios errors. first observation disc says "frozen" and secondly, error code stating communication error with the drive. Boot order set to dvd drive, not sure what else to do

Had a friend give me their laptop after the hard drive crashed, originally came with a 5400rpm sata 2.5" drive 250GB size. I wasn't sure before I did all this, but one time I had an HP that wouldn't accept any other size but the exact same capacity that was OEM. Anybody know how to tell if that's an issue? I've got a couple spare drives laying around, but I've only got a 160 & a 320gb in the 5400rpm

I lived in Arizona in 2006, according to my hometown in Texas I was allegedly sitting in county lockup for several days for a class b misdemeanor. The judge won't take my calls, the county won't offer indigent help, and they've got no problem sending me a surcharge for a conviction, which they don't offer any dispute resolution, they say to contact the reporting court, the one that one take my calls, respond to emails or anything.

I'll try to keep this short.....

Married, children, homeowner. My father in-law got sick awhile back, he has since recovered, cares for himself & tends to all his daily functions on his own. My wife was concerned over his health, and like anyone else i'd imagine, it get's difficult to look beyond the bad. He's not my dad so this doesn't come out to me this way, as a result my wife pretty much thinks my opinions don't matter. Not suggesting anything that doesn't pertain to me, even if it was I try to have a patient & sensitive touch. However, when it comes to my home & how I choose to live my life in the one place on this earth that I have the right to be so selfish, my wife proposes an ultimatum, "don't make me choose between you & my dad". She made her position quite clear that he was to move into our home & I just needed to accept it. I'm a very private & territorial person when it comes to my home, I don't like others playing with my lego's.

I'm a reasonable person, I can see it's important to her so it's not simply dismissed. I spoke with him directly & we made a very clear agreement, and I made it very clear that living with us would have a significant negative effect on me, and our marriage as well. Basically, we got a portable building moved onto the property & it was his obligation to prepare it for move-in. We discussed the financial aspect, and his limited resources & living space. First downside was when he showed up with a 26ft U-Haul to move into an unfinished building that measures 16x24, sadly most of his stuff is holiday decorations & tools. His poor financial decisions have left him without any money to honor this agreement we made, even more irritating is that now, he acts as if it's just ok to sit in my recliner in front of my tv ALL DAY LONG rather than atleast attempting to do anything productive. My wife for some reason is completely oblivious to the effects of moving parents in, and the sad part is that this is her argument each time we have this discussion. Rather than addressing the issue, and coming to a conclusion, I hear "I don't see how this is a problem". My wife isn't stupid by any means, but this repetitive ignorance despite my detailed explanations previously is getting really old.

My question for the reader here........ Just to make sure i'm not alone, does anyone agree that I have a valid concern? Does it sound as if i'm unreasonable or insensitive? I'm not indebted to my father in-law for anything, but i'm accommodating even more-so with him than I am my own family. Previous business-oriented & mutually beneficial arrangements with my father inlaw went south on his accord. Now those same irresponsible decisions take a direct affect on my home....MY HOME.

The prospect of grandpa coming to live sounds appealing to a 7 & 9 year old. Till it actually happens that is, and my neat-freak 9 year old get's bombarded with A LOT of stress cleaning up after grandpa, and having to share his super-clean room & fancy gadgets with his complete oppositve counterpart brother. Then to top that off, all the Netflix accounts are used up, so he can't watch his Disney shows anymore until grandpa decides to do something besides watch tv....which to this point seems to be indefinite.

Before I go to the trouble of splicing up a test lead, anybody know if this will have any effect.

Working with a 5400RPM SATA, something mechanical seems to be going on. I'm trying to spin it up enough to pull the files, all I've got is a 2.0USB & an external case. It's not spinning up at the 2.0's 5v 1/2 amp. Drives rated to draw 700Mah so im' thinkin maybe I can spin it faster if I can bump that up to the appropriate draw for the drive. Alternatively, anybody know what kind of voltage leeway I might have, can I bump it up to 6.5v without burning up the components? any help, thanks! Don't have a powered usb hub either, but I've got some different 5v transformers, maybe I could rig up a cable or something

Got all these figures but I dunno if I have to add a custom value for each service or what? it's a netgear wndr3400v2 router and the user interface isn't very friendly to a novice.

I was going to set my numbers lock key to "always on". Looked up the process to do so, and it was supposed to be changing the value in the registry (I assume) from a 1 to a 2 instead. Well, when I opened it up it was more of a phone number instead, is that just coincidence that it looks like a phone number from my local area? 2147483648

This is real annoying, it's gotta be some kind of glitch. Internet works, no problem. But on my win8 laptop, I can open a page & instantly I get the "page can't be displayed" crap. Then if I reload it works just fine. It's the speed in which it does it, like instantly that has me thinking this is some kind of settings issue, just don't know where to start. i'm running a dell w/an intel core i7, it's quick & I've got plenty of storage & memory, any ideas where to start

OK, i'm not a stupid guy by any means......but on this subject i'm a complete idiot. Here's some questions i'm looking for, if they sound completely off the wall.....sorry!

#1. I understand that certain services received aren't subject to copays, deductibles & all that stuff. What i'm hearing is that I can go to the dr's office for preventative care, no charge. I don't understand what that even means? Does that mean I don't pay the copay to have the doctor see me, but what about all the work, tests or whatever he does? Is it all rolled into the "preventative category" or what?

#2. What all is under this whole "no charge" policy? Is it just preventative, are there other scenarios. The only person I see this benefiting is my wife, so she can have her annual checkups with the gyno. Other than that I don't see what good the policy is (mostly because I bought the highest deductible policy since I don't intend to use the plan).

#3. Why is the policy so expensive? I got the cheapest, highest deductible policy I could find. Because after all the research I did, bottom line is I spend less on healthcare all year long at the clinic than just ONE MONTH premium of this plan, which is somewhere around $330/month with a $12,700 deductible.

#4. A friend of mine said she was paying $60 for birth control meds while using insurance. Then her doctor told her to pay cash, not insurance for the meds......they cost her less than $10 now. Why with insurance would it cost 6x's as much, and what effect does this have on other deductibles & stuff like that, perhaps something that may apply to my situation?

sorry if these are totally off the wall, but I seriously need an "insurance for dummies" book to read, somebody school me!

My grandmother just informed me that she's drawing off my grandfather's social security, so sounds like survivors benefits right? But she waited until she was 63, when she could have done this at 57 when he passed. She never worked, he was the breadwinner so she never contributed, and there's a long time going back cuz she's 83yrs now. Is there any variable i'm not considering? Is there a way she can go back & get those 6 years of benefits?

My son had to have his appendix removed while we were out of state, the hospital admissions office accepted our insurance, told us everything would be just fine. Then the business office came back on us after it was all said & done, sent the bills directly to us & said they can't or won't accept it. I contacted our members advocate services & they pretty much told us that they would pay the bill, it's all approved, all they had to do was send the bill. They won't even do that! Why exactly would they refuse to get paid, I can't imagine that this is just a few pennies they're choosing to just toss away. Per our states agreement, CHIP members never get contacted directly to deal with billing issues, if there's a discrepancy or anything we never know about it (under normal circumstances) So my questions are

What recourse do I have to correct this?

Is this not the very definition of entrapment?

I received a lump sum payment (Disability) Form ssa-1099 (I had no other income)

My wife has earned income & filing jointly (around $24-25k)

My two children each received a ssa-1099 lump sum, no other income (about $2500 each child)

On turbotax I put in my 1099, but it said don't include kids, now there's no place to put it anywhere that I can find. I get mixed answers what to do.......

Can somebody tell me what to do, because the publications on IRS website only say there's a possibility they can be taxable.

First time having to deal with this, so i'm gradually gathering information. Here's the facts...

I got a lump sump payment after the judge deemed me disabled, the period of the lump sump covers two tax years.

I got a payment for both of my children as well, I understand this is SSI & isn't taxable?

My wife had income this year also, but I don't know how I calculate her's & mine together. I was under the impression that I needed to take her income plus half mine & pay taxes on it, or is that wrong? A clear cut way to figure this out would be nice, thanks!

Also, will I be receiving a benefits statement for this income, some kind of 1099 form or anything? If so, when should I be looking for this in the mail & can I review my benefits on the ssa website or anything?
