Was out of town, computer was off. There was a big electrical short on the telephone pole wires. Power went out. I have a serge protector on my computer. I tried to reset the serge protector but breaker on protector would not work so I replaced it. Still computer will not turn on. The monitor will come on but the blue indicator light on top of the tower does not come on. I tried flipping the red switch below the power cord at the tower but still won't come on. The computer was off at the time of the power serge. Could it of affected the mother board or is there a fuse or breaker to the power for it?

I have a new Apple Ipad mini I intered a pass work and forgot it. I tryed several pass words and finaly locked up. Now I cant do anything with it. How do I get it working again.

I tested the batery cables and ground to the engine and frame with a test light and has good conections. It does have voltage to the fuses and fuse box relays. Also has voltage to the starter solenoid. All the fuses are good but don't know about the relays? Thought this might be a comon problem that someone has had on their Goldwing before. That would save me lots of work taking all those covers off to get to the problem. Thanks for any help

Was cranking ok while I was cranking the bike seemed like the voltage just stopped and then wouldn't crank any more. Noticed that the dash lights were not on when you turn the Key on either. Seemed like maybe a fuse just blew or a bad graound wire or conection failed. Has any one had this same problem on a Honda Goldwing 1500 SE. I checked the fuses on the fuse box and the fuse on the starter relay but it was so hard to remove the other fuse box where the relays are. Have to remve the seat and one saddle bag. Thought someone may hane had the same problem and could save all this work. Thanks for any help

1982 6.2 Diesel engine Question . What is the mechanical lift pump pressure on a chevy 6.2 Diesel engine. What is the best 12 volt pump to replace the Mechanical pump with? What is the maximum recommended pressure to use with an electric pump? Thanks

use to start and ran good while cold until it warmed up. The EPC warning light would come on and it would loose all power. I fueled it up once and battery was low had to jump start it and that's when the symptoms changed. Now started running really rough from the start hardly would Idle. It was acting like it was flooding out hesitating, missing, no power. Now it does this everytime I start it.I researched the problem and found out this is a common problem on this vehicle. If it ran fine when cold this tells me all my components sensors are good. It is only when the EPC light would come on that it lost power . At one time the temp. light would come on and then go out. Has any one had a similar problem or does anyone know what needs to be changed out. Thanks for any help.Not too mush into new cars.

2001 v/w beedle with turbo engine 10019 K miles on it. starts fine when cold and has all kinds of power. After it warms up the EPC warning light comes on and seems like the turbo stops working and no power and runs really rough. I am not too much into new cars so can any one help or if you had this problem on your beedle what did it take to fix it?

I don't know too much about a 2 cycle engine and have a 350 Polaris that won't start. Was told it back fired and wouldn't start after that. I checked compression has 120 psi and cleaned carb and fuel tank. Put new fuel and added oil to oiling tank reservoir. Has good spark, and spark plug. I can spray starting fluid and it will start until it burns off the fuel. I placed my hand on the carb intake as to choke manually and seems not to have any suction. What part does the reed valve have on the starting or fueling of this engine. What are they used for.This must be a known problem on this type of vehicle I read up on some problems and seems to be the same problem of backfiring and then wont start. can some one help thanks

1992 F 150 w/4.9 , 300 6Cly engine. started running rough and fowled up the new plugs thought it may of been the fuel pressure regulator but not sure. I took a fuel pressure test and it shows to be within specs, 69 psi.and holds the pressure ok. The fuel pump never stops working. I thought it had to stop after a few seconds.Also took pressure regulator off and checked out had good vacuum. Replaced spark plugs and started up fine no miss no rough idle. Road tested and got back started running rough and missing again. Black smoke coming from tail pipe. I checked the distributor for wear and checked the pick up coil or hall effect and is working fine. Also checked coil for resistance and changed out the ign. module. The spark seems kinda yellow but jumps to ground good. It starts OK when I clean the spark plugs. No miss fire and Idles smooth. I also adjusted it to the initial timing. Have not replaced the O-2 yet. I know a defective 02 will keep the eng. running in the full rich mode but it shouldn't fowl the plugs. Has anyone had this problem with the same vehicle? could it be the ECM or Injectors? I'm tired of f------g with it. Read the book 10 times but not enough info. Appreciate any kinda help. I'm an old pro. on old autos but don't know enough of the new stuff. Thanks

I bought this veh. and there is no freon in the system. Just want to know if any one knows any thing on the A/C unite on a 1999 chevy suberban. How hard is it to replace the Evaporator core. Is there a rear Evaporator? What are the most comon causes for freon leak on this veh. I looked at the compressor seals and hoses, condenser and conections and don't see any oil or signs of leaks. I have never worked on one of this monsters so it is new to me. will apriciate any help. Thanks

Not to much into automatic trans. But need to know what other make and year Model of transmission will fit my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. with a 3.1 engine. How can I distinguish the difference? Will it bolt right up and are the wire connectors to the electronic solenoids and linkage the same? I know there are usually 3 or 4 different years that will fit. Can any one help me with some info? tractor has sat for a few weeks. went to start it and carb. started flooding. Tried every which way to adjust the level But couldn't get it to stop flooding out. finally took the float off and submerged it in a bowl of water and it floated. I then submerged it in to a bowl of gasoline and it sunk to the bottom. WHY ??? The float is good and not leaking and made of brass. I thought I had seen everything. I am a pro. mechanic and had never seen this. Can someone out there explain it to me. I know water is heavier than gas. Is it because of the old gasoline or the new gasoline we are using now? Please no smart remarks only serious answers Thanks

Has any one heard of Stream direct TV? I received an offer to pay 44.95 and get info on hook up and a dvr player to watch, record over 4500 channels for free and be able to watch on my big TV. Is this true? and will it hurt my computer? Does it work good with no interruptions like when you watch You tube, that it stops and then continues? Is this something that I can just do it myself with out having to pay? Please let me know any input on this for I am not too brite on computers. Thanks

I have a 1983 Kawasaki GPZ 1100 that has accelerating problems. It start ok but idles like it is misfiring. Like when you have a crossed ign. wire or a carb not getting enough fuel at idle.After it warms up it idles good. When I open the throttle for quick acceleration it falls flat and dies. But if I open the accelerator slowly it accelerates good up to any high rpm. I don't have a manuel on this bike so I dont know if it has points, timing advance, ffirringorder, or timing setting. Also someone has put new meckonie ?? carbs. I removed the fuel bowels and cleaned them out and checked the float levels. I don't know if this type of carb has a vacuum diaphragm to open the main jets. can some one out there help Thanks
