  • Should I take this job?

Looking for an unbiased opinion, so I have turned to yahoo answers.

I have been offered a job in the same career field that is closer to home, offers a take home car, cheaper benefit premiums, better retirement, better schedule, and better equipment. The problem is that my salary will be approximately $5,000 less and I will not have the opportunity to work as much overtime as I want.

So basically my question is would you take quality of life over the ability to write your own pay check?

  • Mailed my taxes on 4/27?

I mailed my taxes in on 4/27 and according to irs.gov I should be able to see the status of my refund within 4 weeks of mailing it in. I checked today and nothing is showing up on the "where s my refund" tool on the website. All the info on the paperwork is correct and I know it s been delivered because I tracked it on usps.com. Anyone have any ideas on what s going on? I tried calling the IRS but I can only get through to an automated message that tells me the same info I m getting from "where s my refund."

  • Interested in getting serious about firearm tactics?

Im interested in taking my firearm training further and becoming a more tactical shooter. I go to my local gun range 2-3 times a week and it has gotten a little old. I'm kind of interested in competition style shooting but more interested in the more tactical side of shooting (close quarter, draw and fire, room entry/clearing). Anyone have any ideas on where I can work on this? I live in Georgia if that helps.

  • Should I get another dog?

I have a 2 year old Siberian Husky and he is a handful to say the least. He is incredibly spoiled getting new toys and I take him on hikes and dog park trips throughout the week. Unfortunately though, for 40-50 hours a week he is home alone and can be destructive, and I know it's because of separation anxiety. I am considering adding another dog to maybe suppress the destructive behavior while he is home alone.

  • Getting a new car need a little advice?

I am getting a new car within the next week or so and I just have a few questions on where and what I should get.

    Budget: $18,000

    1) I am looking at a couple Dodge Darts and from what I can see they are pretty reliable.

    2) should I go to a big time dealership or should I go to CarMax or something alike.

Feel free to add any input or experiences.

  • Thinking about purchasing a 2004 Honda Accord?

The car has 180,000 miles on it and I just need to know what I need to watch out for when it comes to the model. The guy I'm buying it from says it will last forever and that it has been well maintained. I have no idea what has been replaced and what hasn't. any knowledge is helpful thanks guys.

  • Good or bad idea for me to get a new car?

My current car is a 1999 mazda Miata with 160,000 miles on it. in the past year and a half I have put new tires, new clutch, new timing belt, new water pump, new catalytic converter, new spark plugs and wires and I also keep it maintained and put 89 fuel in it. The top is leaking a bit, the stereo doesn't work, and the starter solenoid is going bad. I really do not want to put another dime in this car which is why I'm starting to look (not to mention its small and inconvenient). It is paid off.

I'm looking at a 2004 pontiac Gto with 58,000 miles on it. The guy is asking $8,000 and is willing to take half down and 250 a month. The car has no issues my friends dad is a trusted mechanic who looked it over. All we can see that's wrong with the car is that a headlight is out.

    Should I do it?

2004 Honda Accord or 2004 Pontiac GTO?

I'm in the market for a new car. I currently drive a 1999 mazda Miata and my local dealer has a pretty nice v6 2004 Honda Accord with 180,000 miles on it. He is asking $7,000 which is to high for the car but I'm going to try and talk him down to $5,500. I'm using my car as a down payment. And pay $250 a month for the next year. My friends parents own a 2004 pontiac GTO and it has a lot of work done to it. It only has 58,000 miles on it and they will give it to me for $8,000. I don't think they will let me finance it so I would save as much as I can and sell my current car to get it. What should I go with? I don't have a pic of the Honda.

  • Is trading my Miata for an accord a good idea?

I currently have a 1999 Mazda Miata with 160,000 miles on it. I am looking at a 2004 Honda accord with 180,000 miles on it. the dealer is asking for my car down and $300 a month for 18 months (the car is priced at $7,000). I m looking for a new car because my Miata is just to small. I have a dog and I take trips throughout the year with my girlfriend and I hate always using her car. Is this a good deal?

  • Thinking about getting my EMT certification and becoming a firefighter?

I am 20 years old and I graduated in 2013 and I have yet to attend college because for one I was unable to get in state tuition and for two I was unsure on what I wanted to do. Monday morning I will be contacting my local tech college about enrolling in the EMT certification program. I have recently decided that I want to become a firefighter. My passion is fitness and I am about to become a certified personal trainer and I was thinking about doing both, Is it possible? I have heard many rumors saying that firefighters often have a second job.

  • Nervous about meps?

I had a surgery 6 years ago removing a benign tumor. I have limited range of motion when extended but when flexed I have full range of motion. I went to the doctor 4 years ago to see why I did not get my range of motion back. They took an x-Ray and my elbow did not heal 100% correctly. I can extend it about 80 to 85 percent. I can do all the exercises easily and hardly have pain and when I do it's pretty mild. Will this DQ me? Not sure if this matters but I plan on joining the Navy.
