Lebanon: any clues to a question about hair?
I just really want to know so I'm asking in like every category possible :D
so the average person apparently has about 100,000 strands of hair on their head, and lose on average 100 a day......
okay wouldn't that mean in 100 days ALL your hair would have fallen out already?
new hair starts growing, but it takes many years for a hair to grow long.
like I have long hair, and when one strand is shed, it would take like 5 years or something for it to grow back to THAT length and replace the one lost,... I know a girl whose hair reaches her knees, and with the knowledge that a strand of hair lasts 2-7 years and some fall out everyday ... how is it that after like 20 years her hair is still in existence and that long ... how does it work?
everyday long strands of hair are lost, but it seems hair grows more slowly than it is being lost....so how do the new hairs 'catch up' ?
all of my visible hair looks to be a similar length, I don't see the new short ones that are suppose to grow to replace the ones that have shed.
I don't get it. thoroughly confused, science and math are definitely not my 'thing' lol. if anyone understands what I'm saying, enlighten me.

Everything I ate today that I can remember:
1 egg
some rice
medium amount of tuna
a lot of cabbage
half a pomelo (this fruit to me at least tastes bad...but it's like a healthier version of an orange so 'i'm lovin it')
some chicken
1 cucumber
some raw onion
A lot of oatmeal + milk + honey + cinnamon
not as much stuff as I would think... are you comfortable with your diet? do you think it's healthy? what would you like to add? any goals/ideas etc? do you think my diet today is healthy? lol

8 AnswersDiet & Fitness10 years agoCan someone save me from this nightmare of Russian adjectives?
so beside the pain of not knowing *when* to put *what* endings (енн \ онн \ ин \ ан \ ян \ ный) to make adjectives from nouns.... now I also realize it doesn't end there and there's MORE!!!
зверь - звериный - зверский
лист - листовой - лиственный
are the meanings different? why are there 2 forms.... did someone come up with this never ending complicated system of adjectives to scare students or something :[
I guess I shouldn't start on how to make adjectives from verbs........
Maybe my teacher will save me tomorrow... and I'll have to survive without understanding til then :(
SO, please tell me what you know about this 'stuff'
4 AnswersRussia10 years agoRussian: how to make adjectives out of nouns?
So I'm learning правописание суффиксов прилагательных, Н, НН
like if ин, ан, ян ...is before the suffix, write only 1 н
and if енн, онн is before the suffix, write 2 нн
but how to know when to put енн \ онн \ ин \ ан \ ян to make adjectives :-s
obviously I'm missing some правила here because I wouldn't know how to make звериный out of зверь, or лиственный out of листва... why not зверенный or зверяный or листый etc
what are the rules?

5 AnswersMarriage & Divorce10 years agoDo men have any other options beside shaving?
I'm not a guy and so have never had to think about putting the razor to my face, and don't really know anything about face shaving cause I grew up without a father and only have little baby brothers... but I have shaved before and despise it...
The soft/cleanness only lasts a few hours, to a day at most before stubble arrives and that stuff is worst than hair...(too look at and to feel)
Once it comes you're tempted to shave yourself raw to not have to deal with the bumps and the *itchiness*
But shaving often irritates skin making it not soft/unhealthy... and there's also the problems with ingrown hairs/red bumps... not mentioning just the annoyance of having to shave, and often...
I don't shave anything at all anymore, and stick with plucking, and threading (more time-consuming and can hurt a little so I leave the razor around for any emergencies), plucking and threading keeps the hair off for much longer (a week or two depending on the area) and is in general, just a nicer experience imo, it's nice to know you're not cutting off any skin, and there is no itchiness when the hair grows back...
So I was thinking...do men hate shaving as much as I do, or since it has become a daily thing they don't mind it? Wouldn't hairy/itchy kisses be rather unpleasant? Would you consider other methods, say waxing...threading...plucking...sugaring… those methods were easily accessible?

8 AnswersOther - Skin & Body10 years agoIsrael: transliterate these lyrics, please, thank you.?
I like the sound of this song but can't read the lyrics and it's no use knowing the alphabet cause I can't read without the vowels, which are practically never written...
2 AnswersIsrael10 years agoWhat is the origin of the family name Rakhmanov?
just wondering...I have a friend from Ukraine, although born in Israel (so possibly could be of Hebrew origin perhaps) with this name and I like the sound of it :)
5 AnswersRussia10 years agoIsrael: Writing a name in Hebrew?
I want to write my Arabic family name: الجرماني letter by letter: Aljrmany
in Hebrew.
It can be transliterated and written with Latin letters in many ways: Jarmany, Jermany, Jaramany, Jaramani, Germany, Garamany etc and it means "Germanic"/"German" whatever difference there is between those words I don't even know.
How to write it in Hebrew?
I think it is either ג'רמני
or this גרמנית
6 AnswersIsrael10 years agoWhen was the last time you couldn't sleep because you were happy?
I was actually answering a question...but then it got deleted and I was so happy typing my answer that I figured I'll ask the question myself
The other day, I was waiting for a reply from this guy I liked, because he hasn't been talking to me much, and tells me he's just really busy with work day and night because he had exams for a while and didn't work.... and of course I didn't really believe him and freaked out badly, being really nervous, you know the
'it's over, he likes someone else' 'he's ignoring me, he wants to avoid me' 'he doesn't like talking to me, I'm depressed' 'what doesn't he like about me? "I am ugly" "ah i hate this guy, but i wish he liked me, I like him so much' 'he's so smart, so cute, I want to kill him.' kinda thing
I was checking my phone like every 5 minutes, it was pretty crazy.
Then it was like early hours of the morning and he finally talked to me, he said he did like me very much and he some of the sweetest stuff I've EVER heard in my life, I can't even say it here but ahh I had butterflies and didn't sleep til like 7 in the morning, I couldn't stop smiling and wanted to dance and sing and like marry the guy lol. I woke up in the afternoon, singing and dancing to old love songs and thinking about him all day... Yeah, pretty pathetic, I know. But what a feeling that was, and how sweet he was...
of course now he's back to working and not talking to me much and I'm back to the 'I'm not sure if he likes me anymore, I think he doesn't' thing -_-
anyways, any stories of not being able to sleep because of excitement :D
5 AnswersPolls & Surveys10 years agoRussia, Follow up from previous word form question....?
can someone please give me more examples of these ая" or "ющий" words (not sure on their technical names, erm, 'deverbs'?
can these words be formed out of any verb? take взволновать for example, there is no "ая" or "ющий" form listed in my dictionary.... BUT there is for the imperfect form of the word: "волновать",
.... I don't think I even want to start on why the forms are волнуя, волнующий, и волнуемый (and not волновая and волновающий like I was hoping they'd be) and the difference in their meanings -_-
SO does that mean these "ая" or "ющий" words" can only be derived from imperfect verbs? how would I say "while (one is) being very excited, it is hard to sleep"
basically spit at me everything you know about these word forms and I'm happy :p
1 AnswerRussia10 years agoWhat form of засыпать is засыпая and засыпающий ?
Compound question here:
So I read the sentence..... засыпая, держались руки сильно.
Didn't know what засыпая meant, and did not know what it was, a noun? a verb? it looks like an adjective.
In the dictionary, засыпая and засыпающий is apparently the "Present deverb." of the verb засыпать, meaning "to fall asleep" and засыпавший is the "Past deverb".
Then I sighed, *sigh* because I do not know what a "present deverb" or a "past deverb" is.
I do know the phrase "летающий таракан" (where I live it is a common daily thing to know lol)... and it is obvious that летающий is the same form of летать as засыпающий is of засыпать. and the word "flying" is (I think) a verb that is acting as an adjective.... so my guess is that засыпающий and летающий are adjectives derived from verbs? and засыпающий таракан would mean like a sleepy cockroach? can you say 'засыпающая кошка'?
I guessed what the ющий ending words meant, what then are засыпая and летая ? They are also "present deverbs" in the dictionary.... What is the difference between летая and летающий, засыпая and засыпающий, how are they used? some examples would be nice.
I think that's it, end of question.
2 AnswersRussia10 years agoDiminutives for the name Антон?
It is easy to find diminutives out of names but I don't know the appropriate situations to use them in, and I don't want to обидеть кого-то, like for example I know "Katka" is a rude insulting version of Ekaterina/Katya, or so I've read. so what would you call Антон if he was someone close and dear to you? Антоша? Антошка? Антошенька? Тоня? what else is there? In my head I use Antoshenka cause I think it's the cutest :D
4 AnswersRussia10 years agoDoes this guy have Lebanese 'looks'?
I know the population of Lebanon are pretty diverse, but I think there still are still some general common features... I mean if you saw this photo with no other information, would you think he could be Lebanese?
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/192/567zt.jpg...
I came across this picture and thought it was pretty cool that, for a random face on the internet his features looks pretty similar to my dad (who is Lebanese). the picture is from an encyclopedia as an example of the "Mediterranean race" which is one of the subcategories of the Caucasian race. even the description pretty much fits perfectly
"from pink or peaches-and-cream to a light brown, a relatively prominent and aquiline nose, considerable body hair, and dark brown to black hair, by moderate to short stature, long (dolichocephalic) or moderate (mesocephalic) skull, large open eyes"
