  • Wiring a car stereo to run in a house questions?

Hey all, I have some extra equipment and decided to build a system for my garage. I have 2 1200 watt subs, a two way 2000 watt amp and wires, three-way speakers, and a head unit (deck?).

I'm going to wire everything and power the amp using an old Xbox cord as a converter. Any suggestions on how to power the head unit? Does the cord carry enough power to run the subs and the head unit?

  • Can I use the stock TCI on a custom wired virago?

    Hey all,

I'm stripping my 1981 xv750 into a cafe racer of sorts. I removed a decent about of wires that would otherwise run to the TCI. Will the bike run like this or do I need a new TCI?

  • What transmission is in my 1989 ranger? How can I tell?

Hey all. My Ranger is 4wd with the 2.9 v6. I need to replace the MANUAL trans.what are my options? I want to swap to a 4.0 someday, but need everything it to bolt right in now.

So: what transmissions will fit, and how do I tell what I have? What transmissions will fit in NOW and will also bolt right up to a 4.0?

I know I'm redundant, but some people can't read. I need a quick swap now. I can't be fabricating anything or messing with adapters.

  • 1978 Bronco rear window motor issues?

Hi all. I bought a bronco and the rear weatherstripping was bad so I sealed it up with tape temporarily since it was winter. I had a strip of clear tape along the bottom of the window. The other day I went to put it down and forgot the tape was on. It went down a half inch on the drivers side and none on the passenger. It seemed to get stuck. I thought the tape jammed it so I took it off and tried again. It'll go back up, but only come down in a similar fashion. I haven't been able to take a closer look. Any ideas? Is something stuck? Something bad with the motor itself? Some electrical issue? Safety switch? Did I wreck something by trying to lower it with it taped up?

  • Should i cut my bumpstops?

Hey yahoo, i own a 1989 ranger that was lifted 4" by the previous owner. the ride sucks a$$. its really rough. at first i thought it was because you can see the shocks puked out all the oil, but after looking closer, the front axle is only about AN INCH from the front bumpstops. the bumpstops are a standard rectangle with a triangle on top to give it a compression rate. Im guessing taller bumpstops were added with the lift.

Im thinking about cutting them shorter with the same taper. any thoughts of what this could hurt? im guessing handling will suffer, but it has sway bars and the ride is terrible. i would take a half inch to an inch.

  • Hydro electric plate?

Could have sworn I saw a plate of metal that generated electricity when water runs over it. Didn't have time to look at the article at the time and can't find any info now. Maybe had to do with the flow of atoms? That's my guess.

  • Hire a manager to grow my lawn service?

Hello, my name is Jon. I own a local small landscaping business. I have a minimum of five lawn accounts with other landscaping on top, property cleanings in the spring and fall, and about ten snow removal accounts.

I would like to grow my business but have come to realize I can't do it on my own. I have reached as much as I can do by myself. I can market and get more accounts but cannot do them by myself. I am also going to college in a year and don't want to give up my business.

Could I hire a manager to grow my business for a percentage of the profit? Can I run it as an absentee owner? I know I don't know as much as I would need to to do it myself.

  • Hill climb/ rally truck?

I'm looking at building my 1989 ranger to run in hillclimbs such as pikes peak. I want it to handle on the road as well, so I want to build it as more of a rally car instead of a trophy truck. I can't find much info. What sort of suspension changes do I need to make? It's 4wd currently. Are there any websites I can look at?

  • 1978 bronco quarter replacement?

Hi all, I'm looking at replacing the rear quarters on my bronco. I want to do some inner fender and tub repair, but can't do it all at once since the bronc is my daily driver.

Can I bolt the new rear quarters instead of welding? In the future I will probably go fiberglass, but have steel now.

Can I mount them in a way that I could just unbolt the steel and bolt the glass? I have no idea how you would mount the glass fenders.

  • 1978 460 rebuild cost?

    Hello,

I'm considering having my carbed 460 rebuilt. I would provide the parts. I just don't have the space right now to do it myself. I basically am wondering what you think labor would be. If I provided preformance parts, would that change the cost?
