My laptop battery gets used up, even though my laptop is off! How come?
Sometimes I turn off my laptop (or sleep-- whatever that power button does) and close it. The battery will be about half-charged. When I come back hours later, the battery is virtually dead.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop if that's relevant.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it not turning off properly?
7 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhat is this song stuck in my head?? "...One minute..."?
I have this song stuck in my head (relatively recent/popular song I think, in the pop genre maybe?). Except the only part I remember is "one minute", so here's the question! How many songs can you think of that have the words "one minute" in them?
I'll check em all!
And no, it's not One Minute by Kelly Clarkson.
Thanks music fans!
3 AnswersLyrics1 decade agoNa2CO3 + HCl --> What? Chemistry Question!!?
I added hydrochloric acid to sodium carbonate, and the results were that there were lots of bubbles, and the solution remained clear and colourless.
So my question is, what was formed? Since there were bubbles, there was a chemical reaction, but if there was no precipitate, then everything remains as ions (Na+, CO3^2-, H+, Cl-) and nothing happens.
If you completely understand this, please help me out!
3 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoFrequency in air VS Frequency in CO2?
It's a specific question, but I need a bit of help (grade 11 physics, Sound and Waves Unit).
Q: Imagine that a closed end air column was filled with carbon dixoide and not air, but you were not aware aware that this was the case as you conducted the lab (to find the frequency). Would the resulting frequency obtained be higher or lower than the actual frequency due to this overside. Explain why.
thanks in advance for any help.
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoStatue outside the Pantheon in Rome? What are those evil-duck looking things?
I just came back from a trip to Italy and I'm looking at my pictures. There's one of myself in front of a fountain/statue outside the Pantheon in Rome. The fountain has these beaked fish that look really evil. I'm sorry I can't describe them better, but I don't know a whole lot about Roman mythology! I'm curious to know what they are, since I'm sure they have another name besides "evil duck looking thing"! I found a picture on google, but it doesn't give a name. Here is a link:

Anyone know what its called? Thanks
3 AnswersSculpture1 decade agoWhat do you think about organ donations?
Just the other day I filled out those cards that come with your health card and drivers license saying that yes, I can donate my organs if I die. With that card came the statistic that every three days, someone dies waiting for an organ transplant.
So I'm curious- why don't more people donate organs? What do you feel? Why do agree or disagree with organ donations, assuming you are already dead?
Also, if you were dying and the doctors told you that your only chance of survival was to take someone else's organ, would you do it?

1 AnswerDiet & Fitness1 decade agoDriver's Test- any tips?
Heya. It's my birthday today, and I turned sixteen. I'm taking my driver's test this Friday. I live in Ontario, so I'm trying to get my G1 (level one). Does anybody have an advice on what's on this test/how hard it is? Everyone has told me it's easy, but a lot of people still fail. I read the official hand book- the first four or so chapters at least.
Anybody from Ontario who can lend some help? Thanks!

7 AnswersStandards & Testing1 decade agoRunning a summer camp: best & favourite kids crafts, games, and camp songs!?
So I want to try and work at a camp this summer. I was wondering if anybody had any cool ideas for:
- camp songs- repeat after me's, loud and silly work, what are your favourites?? (what are the words/ tunes?)
- camp crafts- ages range from 4-10(ish), should be done in about 30-40 minutes, inexpensive/easy to find materials. Any creative ideas you think kids might like?
- popular games- for a group of ranging from 15-40 kids, ages 5-12. a large grass field is available, a rec hall, and a forested hill. Do you have any good games that would last 20 minutes or so that you know kids enjoy playing?
- general camp activities that you think would be popular...
Thanks for all your help! =D
4 AnswersOther - Outdoor Recreation1 decade agoCopper (II) Sulfate hydrate- mass change, evidence- HELP!?
So we did a lab where we heated copper (II) sulfate, a hydrate. It turned into a dehydrated hydrate because water left it. We did lots of mass measurements too. If anyone has done this lab, can you help me with this question?
What experimental evidence do you have to prove that the mass change was the result of water being evaporated from the hydrate?
Thanks
