  • Flight layovers?

I'm studying abroad in Brazil and have a flight from Seattle to new York (JFK) and will be there for 4 hours. From there I fly to Sao Paulo (GRU) and will be there for an hour and a half. Before I fly to Florianopolis. I have no idea how layover work as it is my first time flying alone. Especially in a foreign country. Do I need to recheck my bags both times? Do I have to go through customs both in Sao Paulo and floripa? What do I do

  • What is the difference between living in an apartment on campus and an apartment off campus?

My friend and I decided yo be roommates for next year. Our school has "on campus apartments" that are actual apartments and he wants to live there but I want to live off campus in an apartment complex that our school owns anyways. Idk what the difference between living in an on campus apartment and an off one

  • college spring break events in California?

A couple of my bros and I are from Washington state where we also go to college and we are going to take a road trip through Oregon and California. We were hoping to find one of those big beach party events in California like there is in Florida and Mexico but we haven't really heard. Where are all the California party places?

  • What does swollen lymph nodes in multiple places mean?

A while back I found some bumps on my genital area that seemed to be warts. After visiting the doctor that was ruled out. I have gone back multiple times out of concern and each time I was told it was nothing. The last time, they decided to test me for HIV/AIDs, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and chlamydia. All tests came back negative. That was two days ago. I have recently realized that my lymph nodes are swollen under my chin/jaw and on my groin. They are making my throat feel really tight and also making it uncomfortable to sit down. I've looked up all my symptoms and everything comes back as cancer. It's really freaking me out. Does anyone else know or have an opinion on what this could be?

  • What does a lump in the urethra mean?

I have gone to the doctor multiple times for wart like bumps on my penis. All doctors say they are nothing but now I'm finding a lump inside of my penis around the head. Seems to be in the urethra. Not painful or any discharge but there is discomfort. I read it could be hpv or cancer. I have officially scared myself. I don't know what it could be

  • I think my doctor is wrong. what do I do?

I've had a rash like looking thing in an area I don't think it belongs. It's been there for a good while and now seems to be getting worse. I thought it could have been an std. But I've been to 3 different doctors in different time spans and they all say its normal. If its normal why does it look abnormal and looks like it getting worse. Idk if the doctors are right and I'm just freaking out or are they wrong?

  • Brazil or Costa Rica for summer study abroad?

I'm really leaning towards Brazil because I want to actually immerse myself and be part of the population and not seem or feel like a tourist. I want a country that's big and multiple things and places to do and see with an incredible history. Multiethnic society. all of which Brazil has while costa Rica seems touristy. But my major is History eudcation and minor is spanish. I also heard Brazil is dangerous. What country would truly benefit me more as a student and culture lover.

  • Brazil Vs Costa Rica for study abroad?

I'm an African American male who is studying History/Social Studies Education with a minor in Spanish and have the opportunity to study abroad in one of these countries this summer. My choices are Florianopolis, Brazil and Puntarenas, Costa Rica. They are both coastal areas of their countries which makes it an even more harder choice.

I am very interested in the BLACK latin American population that comes from African slaves and I heard that Both Brazil and Costa Rica have a huge population of those people. Even though I am minoring in Spanish I still would like to become fluent in ALL the romance languages. Including Spanish, Italian, Brazilian AND European Portuguese as well as French. I would like to know which country would best fit my interests.

  • What are the best, most diverse cities and towns in Northern California?

I am thinking about moving to California. I am from Washington and the atmosphere of Northern Cali reminds me of Washington. I want to know some cool places to live. Could be big cities, small towns, big little towns. The only thing I ask is they are close to water (ocean or bay area) and they have diversity of all types.

  • Why is Europe considered to be a white continent but only 3/4 of Africa considered to be black.?

I know I ask a lot of questions about culture and race but it doesn't make sense how ALL of Europe is considered white yet North AFRICA isn't considered black. They are BLACK! just because they have lighter skin tones doesn't make them White/Caucasians. The only non black Africans are the Arabs. If North Africans aren't black then Southern Europeans aren't white. Simple as that

  • Why do people call North Africans white?

The original North Africans were full black until the BERBERS came from the Iberian peninsula and settled there. They mixed in with the natives who stayed while the other natives fled to West/Central and east Africa. The berbers stayed there for thousands of years. Then the Arabs came and invaded and pushed all the berbers out or mixed in with them. The berbers already had significant black African ancestry. The modern day North Africans are a mix of Black African/Berber/Arab. You can find some who resemble white Spaniards or Portuguese (berbers), some who look full arab and others look fully black African. So why are they considered Caucasians. They are far from that.

  • Why are people having kids so young?

I'm 19 years old and going into my sophomore year of college and I think I'm way too young to have kids. So do most of the people I associate with. But other people were having kids in high school and now that we've graduated it's like it's suddenly ok to have kids. I think people should not have kids until at least 22. I don't understand...

  • If I join the Air Force reserves can I still join the Peace Corps and travel/live abroad independently?

I am finishing up my Freshman year of college and have always thought about joining the Air Force. I am really scared to go to Active Duty because I do not want to go to war ( I know you can still be deployed within reserves to) and also because I have future goals for myself that an active duty airmen would not be able to do. So I was thinking about the reserves or Air National Guard but I really want to study abroad in college and do some traveling abroad after graduation too. With training weekends, how is it possible to do that

  • Why do whites always feel the need to take credit for things that BLACK people created or are responsible for?

For instance ANCIENT EGYPT, The pyramids! Even the United States was even built on the backs of Black African slaves and do we get credit for any of it? NOPE. I know its 2013 but its like damn stop trying to hide that Black people actually have way more things to be proud of then what this racist WHITE society tries to make people believe. It disgusts me.

  • Why do WHITE people think the Ancient Egyptians were Arabs or Semetic White?

Africa, at the time was only a BLACK continent anybody else who was there, was there unoriginally. The whites could not have survived the climates as it was way too hot for their skin tones. And the sphinx and all the hieroglyphics show Black African features. It was until way later that the Greeks and Arabs invaded Egypt. But ORIGINALLY egypt was BLACK. White people are trying to claim Egypt because they don't want to admit that Egypt was a successful BLACK civilization. It drives them crazy. Even MODERN egyptians admit that ancient Egypt was black. There is ZERO proof that ancient Egypt was an Arab civilization but there is all the proof in the world that they were BLACK. For those who try to say people "think" the Nubians were ancient egyptians because they ruled for over 100 years!! Nubians are still EGYPTIAN so you're argument is invalid.
