Starlight

My boyfriend and I have been together for just over 2 years and living together for 7 months and it has been stale lately. He has been treating me like a child lately, not a partner. I really needed a night out with the girls so on Sat I went out and let loose and had a great time dancing. I met a guy who asked for my number. Not even thinking, I gave it to him. Before I even got home, I texted the guy and was like, "Hey sorry, I have a boyfriend", I knew I shouldn't have, but it was nice to feel attractive and wanted. When I got home, my boyfriend came out of the room and picked up my phone and saw the text message and flipped out. He told me to sleep on the couch, then got really angry and was trying to kick me out. I thought he just needed some time, but now it's Sun night and he's still not responding. I tried talking to him, but all he said was he doesn't know if he can trust me now. This is a big mess, I know I was wrong, but what can I do?

My boyfriend makes fun of the things I like, like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. He considers himself above all that just because he graduated college with a masters in Lit. I don't make fun of him for playing Call of Duty! I just always though your loved ones are supposed to accept you for who you are. We've been together for over a year and I feel we have a lot invested, but I get really upset when he makes fun of me, like I'm stupid for liking those things. Am I over reacting?
