What do you think about Kobe Bryant as Player/Coach of Lakers?
We know he is not as young and agile as he once was. We know how injuries have kept him out of games. As a life long Laker right out of high school wouldn't it be great to see him finish as a Laker coach?
He has a multi year contract now but how much time will he be able to really contribute. He knows enough about the game and the players and their abilities to get the job done as a coach.
What might hinder him from this spot as a Laker/Coach?
What are your thoughts.
3 AnswersBasketball7 years agoAre there any nice dinner clubs in Manila that have dancing available for customers?
We will be traveling to Hong Kong soon and want to spend a few days in Manila. There are no dinner clubs here where we are now. Kinda remote.
In the US there are dinner clubs where you can take a wife or date for dining and dancing.
Not the hip hop loud stuff that the young people enjoy. Just like a small jazz combo for listening and dancing. I really miss that. It is very romantic and enjoyable for both.
I like hip hop and techno, house music and all but it is not as romantic as cool jazz for dancing.
1 AnswerPhilippines7 years agoNot all Filipinos wnat to live in the USA, why not?
I have a drinking buddy here. He is a Filipino and he would rather live in the Philippines than the USA. His wife is a RN in Chicago. She petitioned him. He went there and returned to the Philippines after a few months.
I know another guy whose wife is in the USA and he just goes to visit and returns to the PI.
I know the reasons they give me but I wonder if they are the real reasons.
Do any of you know Filipinos who have a chance to live in the USA but prefer the Philippines?
10 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoHow can I return a found cell phone in the Philippines?
My g/f's son found a cell phone in a jeepney. It does not appear to be an expensive one but he wants to return it to the owner and maybe get a small reward.
The trouble is, it is locked. No way to notify the owner.
Any suggestions how to notify owner?
2 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoWhat if the cost of living in the Philippines increased tremendously?
Like, what if there was a complete turn around in the economy and the Philippines began to prosper at a very fast rate and the USD suddenly became equal to the Philippine Peso? 43:43
Housing would increase. Consumer products would increase. Wages would increase. Unemployment would decrease. No need for OFWs anymore. Cost of living equal to the US. Crime and terrorism decreased.
How would that affect tourism?
How would that effect expats who retire here on meager pensions or Social Security?
Your opinion counts.

6 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoIs there any advantage of having a desktop computer over a laptop?
I ask because we already have a laptop and an iPad but we have to share the laptop.
I know that a desktop consumes more space and is stationary but is there any advantage?
5 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks7 years agoHow and where will you watch the Manny Pacquaio /Timothy Bradley fight?
I'm asking this in the Philippine section and open to foreigners and Filipinos.
The fight is still a month away. Time enough to get it on PPV or buy a ticket at a local theater, hotel, restaurant or casino.
I have a nice large HD TV but I'll be watching it locally somewhere there will be a crowd.
I may be the only American standing during The Star Spangled Banner but I'm cheering for Manny.
What about YOU?
8 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoDoes anyone know any good Filipino jokes?
I ask because we are getting together with some friends this weekend and I would like some humor among us. There usually is but I would like to add to it just to keep things loose.
3 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoWhat is "TUBA" made from in the Philippines?
I've heard it is fermented from palm tree sap making it an alcoholic drink.
I also heard it is extracted from a coconut. I thought that was buko juice.
I'm thinking it has to be fermented to get people drunk.
I'll stick to San Miguel Light.
Please enlighten me. Salamat
4 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoMaking cigarettes in the Philippines, would it be profitable?
There are really cheap cigarette rolling machines available ( non electric). Just need the paper and the tobacco.
Since so many Asians smoke, I wonder if it would be profitable to make and sell cigarettes in the Philippines.
I've seen them sold for 2 pesos for 1 cigarette.
Do you realize how much a pack of American cigarettes cost back in the states?
I can get a cigarette rolling machine from back home. I just wondered.
Maybe, I can give it to a friend here and help him to make some extra cash.
I know that it's not going to be a get rich business but it's better than nothing.
What is your honest opinion?
Please don't preach to me about the evils of smoking.
6 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoQuestion for foreigners in the Philippines?
How well have you adjusted to life in the Philippines? Do you miss the comforts and conveniences of things and life back home?
I miss my friends and family. I have new friends here but still difficult to adjust to life here.
I'm giving it another few months, then I'll head back to the U.S.A.
Heat, humidity, insects, pollution, and food are things I cannot adjust to.
The people are great. That is not a problem.
I thought I could stay here like on vacation in a nice condo but it's not working.
I'm from Colorado, by the way. I miss the Rockies and the snow, too.
HAHAHA
10 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoWhat is a "Fixer"?
I've seen signs that say to report fixers. Ok, so what is a fixer and who does one report them to?
4 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoWhat could be in those backpacks?
I've often wondered but I know it's none of my business. I see men with backpacks stuffed walking in to a store or mall. I mean really stuffed. I've been backpacking with less. My military rucksack was not that big. I know women carry a lot of things in their purses but they are women and they need most of it.
Please satisfy my curiosity and enlighten me.
5 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoIs Malayasia Best for North americans?
This has nothing to do with retirement but that's another option. Lets just say one has substantial steady income and is not at retirement age.
It could be either male or female. Which country has more to offer in terms of benefits, pollution, crime, medical, cost of living, etc?
Consider Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malayasia, Indonesia, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan.

2 AnswersOther - Asia Pacific7 years agoDo any of you follow your sign?
Like, Astrology, Chinese Zodiac, Feng Shui, numerology? My significant other does. She is so full of superstitions I could almost write a book. She wanted 12 kinds of fruit for New Years. There are others.
I am very much the opposite. I don't believe in fate, destiny or premonitions.
What about you and yours?
2 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoHow would I go about filing my income tax return from the Philippines?
I have a mailing address back in the states where my W-2s will be sent. They can be forwarded to me here along with the proper forms but then what?
I will most likely have to pay some tax on my income. Is it possible to file electronically? Then, how do I go about paying? Should I send a personal check from the bank that I deal with here in the Philippines or what?
I don't want to have to travel back and forth to the US and back just for taxes. I don't like the long flight.
