Need help to find an appropriate disease for a character?
So, I'm writing a short story. The main character is a young boy around 12 years old, who has a disease. It must be a fatal disease that cannot be cured, that is degenerative (or at least that you know you have it and that you have a short time left to live) and that kids can have BUT it must not decrease tou much their energy. Like, the character, despite living his very last days, is able to play, run, jump, ... I can't think of anything, so I thought you might help me.
Thanks
4 AnswersBooks & Authors7 years agoLittle questions for lifeguards (in pool) out there...?
Okay, I'm taking a formation to become a lifeguard. I was just wondering about some details and would be pleased if someone could answer me:
1- How often do you actually have to SAVE someone's life? I mean, I know there's a lot of prevention to do (don't run, don't fight and stuff like that said over and over again), and treating minor injuries (someone has a small cut, is too hot, etc.). But does it happen often that you actually have to go in the water, having an unconscious victim, angina, heart attack, etc, and you have to call EMS? Daily, weekly, monthly, almost never?
So, my question is: How often do you have a problem that requires that you call EMS?
2- How much is it paid and how long do you work?
3- How do you keep focused when nothing happens?
Thank you :)
1 AnswerSwimming & Diving8 years agoI have a PC screen problem?
I have a Toshiba PC. It has never been really fast, and had some little bugs and glitches, but it didn't had any major problem.
But now, when I opened it tonight, it had a big a dark line, approximately at the half of the screen. The line wasn't vertical, it even seemed pretty random, but it was a one unique line. On the left, it was white with lines perfectly horizontal. I couldn't see anything in almost half of the screen. In the other half, I could see what my computer should show (starting screen, icons, etc. ) but barely because it kept "jumping" in horizontal lines. The computer was okay, it's the screen that wasn't. When I moved or change dthe orientation of the screen, lines changed.
I was like, it's weird, but that's not something I wouldn't expect from my sometimes very problematic computer, so I just force stop it, remove the battery, put the battery back, and reopened it. But when I opened it, it was exactly the same. It must be something with the screen, but INSIDE the computer (because I don't feel anything outside).
Please, anybody, help! Is anybody encounter that? What is this? And, what should I do (or pay for :/)?
Thanks
3 AnswersPC8 years agoIdeas for a name for a horse?
I would like ideas for a name for a male competition race horse that would sound powerful an beautiful at the same time.
Just for your information, it's not a real horse, it's a Sims one, but it shouldn't affect anything. :P
I'll give ten points if I found the perfect name I'm looking for.
