  • How can I stop Excel or Open Office from adding/subtracting 1 when copying formulas up or down a row?

I have lately become quite annoyed with both Excel and Open Office in that they insist on adding or subtracting 1 from the specified cell numbers in a formula whenever I copy the formula to the cell(s) immediately above or below the original one. Is there a way to turn this "feature" off? I looked through the help files last night and could not find anything that seemed to be able to help.

If it were just one formula, a simple copy/paste would suffice, but since I am doing it to anywhere from three to four formulas at a time, it is easier to use the copy function built into the programs, though I then need to go back and adjust the cells referenced in the new formulas.

  • Where can I find a specific version of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture?

When I was younger, I heard a recording of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and it piqued my interest in Classical music. While Classical certainly isn't my favorite genre, it still ranks very highly. Recently I have been searching for a copy of the 1812 Overture to put on my iPod, but none of them seem to match up with what I remember hearing 15-20 years ago.

Most of the versions I have found use percussion instruments to replicate the cannons. I have so far found one version that uses real cannons, like I remember with the one I first heard. Here is where I run into a bit of a quandary. I distinctly remember hearing musket fire in the first version I heard years ago, but now I cannot find any mention at all of a version using real muskets. Was my youthful imagination playing tricks on me (or more likely my memory)?

  • Why is the right wing black?

I just saw a picture of an RC-135S Cobra Ball from the USAF 55th wing. The caption points out that the right wing is traditionally painted black, and sure enough the picture shows the right wing is black and the left wing is grey. Why do they paint the right wing black?
