Who still thinks keeping the TSA is good for Americans?
Here is an excerpt from the Washington Times:
"The Transportation Security Administration "cooked the books" to
understate the costs of using federal workers rather than private
contractors to screen airport passengers, a key TSA critic in Congress
charged Wednesday.
Federal auditors found the agency erred in its cost comparisons, and a
skeptical lawmaker said TSA did so to stop the use of private contractors
to do screening — an option Congress wrote into the 2001 law that
created the agency.
Sixteen airports throughout the country use private screeners under the
Security Partnership Program (SPP), but TSA has barred other airports
from joining the program."
9 AnswersPolitics10 years agoIs Ron Paul sincere when he says doctors can cover the poor?
I can't attached the article so I copied it below:
"Eventually Paul got so busy he took on a partner (his medical practice).
Jack Pruett, who was then fresh out of his obstetrics/gynecology residency,
says when he first sat down in Paul's office, he was told there were two
stipulations he would have to agree to before joining the practice.
He said, 'No. 1 is we will not perform any abortions.' And I said, 'That's
fine; I can live with that. What's No. 2?' " he remembers.
No. 2, says Pruett, was that the practice would not participate in any
federal health programs, which meant, as Paul described it, "that we
will see all Medicare and Medicaid patients free of charge, and they will
be treated just like all of our other patients, but we're not going to charge
them and accept federal funds."
Still in debt from his medical training, Pruett said that was a little harder
for him to swallow. "But I liked Ron, so I decided I would agree to that,
too. And in all those 20 years, we never accepted one penny of federal
money. We saw all those patients for free, delivered their babies for free,
did their surgeries free; whatever they needed we did, and we didn't
charge them."
11 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDoes Rush Limbaugh supporting Ron Paul's Economic Plan surprise you?
For months Rush Limbaugh has been attacking Ron Paul and even his supporters (military). Reality has set in and he now sees that Paul is the only candidate to offer a true economic plan that will save the country for our childrens' future.
7 AnswersElections10 years agoPresidential Election: Is anyone willing to meet in the middle?
I am old enough to remember when the Republican Party was much more moderate (pre-Reagan). Most Democrats and Republicans, in that era, were willing to work somewhere inside imaginary lines. Today the Democrats want to give everything away for free. The Republicans have a lobbyist structure (did not exist before) that has only one objective - bring the tax for the elite to as close to zero as possible. Both parties have gone to the extreme and neither really cares about the national debt (don't believe what they say). Are there any individuals looking for a candidate that is not extreme?
5 AnswersElections10 years agoAnybody else seeing the pattern? First Rick Perry and now Herman Cain!?
I am Republican, however, I am interested in a Republican leader who balances the poor (not lazy), the middle income, and the rich. The Republican machine, pulling the strings behind the scenes, thought Rick Perry would be the answer to neutralize and surpass Mitt Romney. How's that working for you? Now, you can go to Fox News' website and it shows "RAISING CAIN". Once again, they show Herman facing off against Romney. Do you not see that we know he served for the Federal Reserve? That we know he served on the boards of your corporations? That he's pushing a tax plan that only benefits the rich? That he is part of your establishment (politician or not)? Seriously! FYI, I am not voting for Romney.
8 AnswersElections10 years agoIs Ron Paul right about returning to a gold standard?
Don't answer this questions without doing a little homework. An educated answer is worth 1,000 times more than an ignorant one. 6 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDoes anyone else think large corporations caused the high unemployment?
Large corporations have all but taken over Washington DC with their lobbyist. They've strangled small businesses which are the true engine of the United States Economy. If tax breaks are used to stimulate the economy, I believe only small to mid-size businesses should participate. Do you agree and which presidential candidate do you think has a similar view? Obama, Perry, Romney, Paul, Bachmann, Cain, etc.
9 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDo you have the stomach to vote for someone you believe in?
instead of someone who you think could win? Will you lead or follow others in order to save face?
9 AnswersElections10 years agoWhy can't a Presidential Candidate step up who is not an extremist?
I'm so tired of extreme left and extreme right. Why can't someone step up who would be willing to tax the rich, plug tax loop holes from Corporate America, drop taxes for small business (our true economic engine), eliminate Obama's national healthcare, increase minimum wage to at least poverty level, place controls on unions (ridiculous salaries), and protect small businesses from corporations that rule the world? Am I asking too much?
