an uniform 6 m bar has a length of 6 m and weighs 30 N. A 50 N weight is hung from the left end, and a 20 N force is hung at the right end. how far from the left end will a single upward force produce equilibrium?

center of mass= (f1r1-f2r2)/ total F

since the forces are opposite direction/ torque, they have to be subtracted. the total mass would have to include the 30 N... so I got:

center of mass= (50N*6m-20m*6m)/(50N+20N+30N)

my answer is 1.8m

but the real answer is 2.1... please help

Looking to buy a new digital camcorder... I dont want mini dv any more... tapes always give me problems. I want either a hard disk or dvd type... but they are so expensive... I was looking at the Sony net sharing NSC-GC1... but I am concerned about the mpeg4 format...

I have heard some hard disk camcorders record in formats that the computer's editing software cant use... I use a iMac, so iMovie comes with it... I dont know if iMovie can edit things with mpeg4 formats... Has any one had Sony net sharing NSC-GC1? can you tell me more about it? or can anyone recommand a good digital camcorder to buy?

I mainly just want to make Vlogs and put them on youtube... not thing fancy.
