  • Mobile phones used aboard, do you know what your bill could be upon returning home?

Dear colleagues,a warning from Tonight's Watch Dog, Phones that have APPS that can be unknowingly(to the user) running/continuously and updating themselves (unless they are turned off from automatic updating) and the user isn't aware of it,as the poor souls below pay testament to.

Plus there is the feature called "data roaming", this continuously runs (if not turned off).

This is running up the phone bill, and the user isn't even using the phone (ie it's left in the hotel room for example)

These crazy charges (and their not capped, or an e-mail sent from the provider stating high usage rate ) are generated from any non EU country, in the EU there is a law that only allows a certain amount per month, something like £35 (not sure about the total, it's something around that figure though, but it''s governed by EU law.

People tonight came back from holiday, Thailand to a £5089 phone bill. The lady stated she had only used her phone for 1 hour whilst away. Another lady went to USA and came back to a £1200 bill..

In both cases it was the data roaming facility that ran up the charges, plus in some cases the APPS caused additional increased charges. Phone companies in question were unsympathetic.

Please don't get caught out, know your phone facilities ,how they work, how to turn them on/off (enable/disable). The only "capping" of the bill is as I have stated, is in EU countries, so please beware.

  • Why are"the people's courts" always made to look useless by the (not the people court)"the supreme court"?

Today the supreme court overturned two minor courts decision concerning the unfair bank charges, why?

The Financial peers were looked after by their Law making peers, all members of the same club.

My real annoyance is that two courts listened to evidence and came to a decision based upon the evidence, and I'm not talking about the bank charges fiasco,

I have no faith whatsoever in the justice system anymore, if your powerful, important, know people in grey suits then you can change any decision you want, AND make it lawful, This countries legal system is not fit for purpose, and many of the people in it deceive (not all), What do you think?

  • Bank charges: Two courts find in favour of the unfair charges, then!?

So they go to the highest court in the land ,where their mates work and its as if the other courts didn't exist. What a strange justice system we have. The financial peers being looked after the Law making peers.

Threats of charging for current accounts if it went against them, don't make me laugh , the so and so's are going to do that anyway. Watch this space, people overdrawn £1 and being charged £35, that can not be fair ,proportionate, just. What's your views.
