  • Is there a disease that causes cysts?

I had a sebaceous cyst removed from my left groin in October 2010, and another removed from my right groin in march 2012. I now have another in my left groin, and two in my left arm. I have done everything the doctor said. Stop shaving, keep it clean, everything. I also have 2 cysts on my left ovary and one on my right. Doctor says there is nothing that can be done, and seems to think that just removing them when they pop up is the solution. I feel like there has got to be SOMETHING wrong here. Also, I have had joint pain in pretty much every joint since I was 12, I'm 22 now. After some googling, it sounds like it could be a chronic inflammatory condition, but I can't find anything specific on it. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

  • A professor told their students to do a search on a Supreme Court Justice...?

This is an assignment for my descriptive computer science class. All we were told is that a professor once told his students to do an Internet search on a Supreme Court Justice to prove that anything can be found out about anyone on the Internet. We need to find out who the Justice and the professor were/are. Any ideas? I am not having ANY luck after hours of searching.

    Thank you!

  • My puppy has a UTI...what should I expect?

I took my puppy in because she was discharging when urinating. I took in a urine sample and she had a UTI, and was put on 10 days of antibiotics. Two days after the antibiotics ended, she began discharging again. I called the vet, and they said she may have an antibiotic resistant UTI, so I am taking her in on Wednesday and they will collect a sample with a needle. Does anyone know what sort of treatment I should expect? I am expecting just a stronger dose of antibiotics, but that worries me because she is only 4 months old. Any suggestions or experience with this is greatly appreciated.

  • My beta fish is hiding, not sure why?

I have a beta fish and a cory cat in a 2.5 gallon tank. We also used to have a Molly but it recently died (yes, I did properly clean the tank and this was like a month ago). The beta has always been submissive to the other fish, always hiding in the branches of the tree. Well, I recently took the tree out to scrub it clean, and it now propped up by a rock. The beta keeps squeezing itself underneath the rock, I mean this space is less than a centimeter off of the bottom of the tank. Why would it be doing this? I want to move the tree, but if it feels safest there I will leave it.

  • What could I have done to my elbow?

Today my roommates and I all got stuck in our parking lot from the snow. After an hour of pushing cars, we finally got them out. About an hour after that my elbow started hurting really bad, its been about 8 hours now and I can hardly move it without extreme pain. Could it have something to do with pushing the cars, and what could it be?

  • Honey as a facial cleanser?

Well I just heard today that you can use honey on your face as an exfoliate and acne-fighter. I tried it tonight, and I like it! I first dampened my face and rubbed the honey on it, then rinsed. I then followed my normal skin care routine (cleanser, toner, moisturizer). My question is, has anyone else used honey and had successful results? How do you use it, and how often? I know there are honey masks, but I am not interested in that.

  • Just want opinions on Mirena and other IUDs?

I have done my research and I know side effects. I just want OPINIONS from people who have it or have had it. I want the good, the bad and the ugly. Just deciding if I want to get it or not. I only personally know two people that have it and they recommend it, but I'm wondering if there are differing opinions. Thanks!

  • WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME SAVE THESE DOGS?

I went to South Caicos (not one of the resort islands where you would go on vacation) to do some research this summer. It was amazing but it broke my heart to see the hundreds of stray dogs in the area. Many were starving and were days or even hours away from death. Every female dog was pregnant or had recently had puppies, and there were very few puppies that were in good shape. Down there, dogs are not pets, they are merely a means to keep other dogs and the wild horses and donkeys off of their property. Every household claims 1 or 2 dogs and feeds them their table scraps, and that becomes their protector. There is not a single vet on the island and dog food is not sold there.

I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas or clues on how to go about getting a group of verterinarians down to the island to spay and neuter as many dogs as possible. I have travel and housing budgeted, but the main costs would be transporting medical equipment. I was thinking this would be a great opportunity for veterinary students to learn simple spaying and neutering techniques. I would just like opinions about the logistics of this and ideas on how to go about it. Most of the dogs are very friendly and just want some food and some love, it's so sad :(

Any info, idea, or encouragement is much appreciated!

  • Why is my black mystery snail upside down and sticking out of it's shell? It is definitely still alive.?

The past few days, my mystery snail has been flipping itself upside down and sticks out of its shell (still attached). It moves once in awhile, but promptly flips itself back over. If I touch it it retreats back into its shell, so I know it's still alive. Any suggestions? I can't find any help on the internet.
