  • I bought a curcuma plant from Home Depot and the leaves are starting to droop. What happened?

I have had the plant for a few weeks now and it was doing fine until we had a rain storm with a lot of wind. Now, the stalks are much less upright the leaves look like they're wilting. Any hints on what to do? Right now it is in partial shade on our patio, and gets a little morning sun.

  • A menu for a formal summer dinner?

I am entertaining a group of foodies for the first time and I want to impress them. The dinner will be in May, and we are in the South so it will be warm. Please offer opinions on the menu below and/or suggestions.

    Appetizers:

    - Crostini with Tomato Butter, Fresh Basil, and Salt Roasted Shrimp

    - Prosciutto, Mozzarella, and Olive Skewers with a Citrus Sauce

    - Gougeres (French Cheese Puffs) with Pesto Cream

    Soup:

    Chilled Carrot Gazpacho

    Entree:

    - London Broil with Herb Butter

    - Risotto Cakes with Mixed Greens

    Dessert:

Macaroons with Strawberries and Blueberry Sauce

    -or-

    Cornmeal Shortcakes with Lime Strawberries

Please tell me how you think these dishes flow from one to another and if they provide a well balanced dinner.

  • When can I start feeding my puppy regular dog food?

Please only answer this if you are knowledgeable of Wellness dog food. We have a 2 year old dog that eats Wellness, limited ingredient Fish and Sweet Potato. Our 6 month puppy is eating puppy food, but I'm wondering if we can transition him to the Wellness. I was sort of thinking it was ok because its a limited ingredient food and made for sensitive stomachs, but wanted to get 2nd opinions...

  • How do I make a light, low-calorie bread?

I want to start making my bread at home, but am having a hard time finding a recipe that is as low in calories as a light bread that I buy in stores. I am on Weight Watchers and want to find a recipe that makes 12, 2 piece servings, for 2 points or less.

  • What can I do to make my dog stop peeing in his crate?

I have asked a similar question before and have done much of the advice. We have tried to make the crate a positive place for him, and he shares it with our two year female dog. He is old enough to hold it for the hours we leave him there.

When we boarded them over Thanksgiving he seemed like he had been cured, he stop peeing in the crate and it was blissful. About a week ago he started doing it again, and he's doing it every day. Why has he gone backwards?

  • Why does my 4 month puppy pee in his crate?

We have almost conquered housebreaking, and have tried EVERYTHING with the crate - limiting his space, taking up his water, exercising him, taking him out right before putting him up, etc...he holds it at night from about 11-6 am. But then, he will inevitably pee in the afternoons before we get home from work. We even come home in the middle of the day to take him out and give him exercise...help, what is going on? He knows that he goes outside to pee, and its only in the afternoon that he has accidents...

  • We just got a puppy that is getting better after contracting parvo from his mother?

He is healthy and is finishing his antibiotics, but I was told by the vet we have to wait to start his flea and tick treatment because of the parvo. Does anybody know why?

  • We recently moved and our dog now HATES being in her crate...?

Before we moved she did fine. She didn't love being in there, but would go in on command and slept fine through the night and stayed in there when we weren't home. Now, we can't sleep because she whines, howls, and scratches the door all night. We've tried making it more comfortable and have even put it right next to the bed, but she is still hating it. What to do now?
