  • Lawrence of Arabia?

    I'm currently watching Lawrence of Arabia and I noticed that all of the characters (but Lawrence most of all) tap their camels repeatedly with a cane while riding them. It seems too frequent a gesture to encourage the camel to keep moving. Am I wrong? Why do they do this?

  • Unrefrigerated SOY milk ok?

    I bought nonn-dairy soymilk yesterday and immediately had a glass. I accidently left it out overnight, and all through today (prob. about 30 hours total). It says refrigerate after opening, but I'm wondering if that's just for taste reasons.

    Your thoughts? Is my soymilk bad? Should I throw it out?

  • Meditation for Impatient People?

    I've tried meditation, but it doesn't really work for me. I'm not a very patient person- I find it boring and difficult to clear my mind and the classical tinkly music that is traditionally played makes me want to break something.

    So tell me, are there any more exciting alternatives to meditation? Ideally, I'm looking for something like Meditation for Punks- some kind of breathing/meditation exercises that won't put me to sleep and will still help me feel more grounded and focuses.

    Any ideas?
