when junkies talk about needing to find a new vein because the one they've been shooting into has been worn out, what do they mean? that the whole vein has literally been damaged by the drugs, or that they have so many puncture holes there's no room, or that the vein has lost its receptivity and they can't get as good a high from that vein any more....? these are my speculations. i have no idea what the truth is though.

i've been able to find their most recent album easily, but the four that come before it are nowhere to be found.

two years ago i gave up reading the wheel of time after Crossroads of Twilight. now i've finally decided to read Knife of Dreams, but i've forgotten a lot over the last two years. remind me, what were some important plot developments from Crossroads of Twilight?

recently i've been getting into a lot of korean cinema, but there's so much, i need suggestions for what to watch next! stuff i've liked so far is Save the Green Planet and Oldboy/the Vengeance series.

a while ago i read a short story about a guy who invents this pill you can take to cure cancer. the one side effect of the pill is that when you take it you change sex, so people start taking it for fun and switching back and forth on a whim. the inventor shuts himself up in his house and becomes a total recluse to avoid his fame. it ends with him looking out at the beach near his home and seeing everyone as androgynous angels.

it is not required. in fact, film makers have to pay for the privilege of having their film rated. and getting a higher rating can restrict their audience and cause them to lose money. so why does everybody do it?
