Do I need to watch all the seasons on The Wire in order?
I want to watch season 5, which I hear was the craziest, but dont want to have to watch all of the previous seasons up to that point. I hear that the seasons cover totally different aspects of the same thing, so would I really be missing something by watching season 5 first?

A neighboring lab to mine is throwing away an old iMac (the ones with the CRTs) and I was thinking that, despite none of its hardware working OTHER THAN the monitor, which works perfectly, I could hook up an old nintendo or some such to the display. Is there any way to get the monitor to accept the red, yellow, and white wires, or possibly svideo?
