  • Need help fixing screen tearing on my computer?

    Hi,

I recently bought a brand new HP laptop (my mistake, I know), with 8 gigs of ram, a radeon graphics card with 2 gigs of memory, and an i7 core. Sounds great, right?

Well, unfortunately, ever since I got it, no matter what I'm doing (watching movies, playing games, moving a window across the screen), the screen tearing at the top and bottom of the screen is atrocious. I've turned v-sync on in catalyst control center (forced it to always be on), I've turned the same option on in different games. Neither really has any effect. And yes, I am using the radeon card since I forced it to be on.

Does anyone have any advice on this? It's a high resolution 1920x1060 screen if that makes any difference, at a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

  • Why do my glasses lenses keep getting defects?

I've had to wear glasses for 15 years, and I've never once had this happen. My last 3 pairs of lenses, specifically my left lens, has had these cracks or scratches that start from the top and center of the lens, and work their way down and get deeper as time goes by, which makes it so that I see a giant streak of light every time I look at a light source.

It gets worse as time goes, the scratches or cracks are always perfectly parallel, and its always on my left lens.

Can anyone tell me what cuases this?

  • Left Temple Aches, what is the cause?

Some days, I feel no pain at all. Some days, my left temple starts hurting, and its not something that knocks me out and makes me rest all day, but it still is fairly painful. It tends to last a whole day, and gets worse if I exercise or bend over, and then typically the next day it will be gone.

It has happened before on my right temple also, but very rarely.

Can someone tell me what this is, and whether or not I should seek medical help?
