  • What happened to Yahoo Answers?

If I remember correctly, people were much kinder, more open, and more willing to elaborate in their answers around 9 years ago.

It seems that nobody is willing to investigate this phenomenon. Everyone mentions it, but the cause isn't written anywhere. Why is this?

  • Do X-shaped supply and demand graphs not apply to individual firms?

I am learning about perfect competition and here they say that only the MARKET follows the traditional supply and demand graph, while an individual firm has a flat MR line for demand and a curved MC line for supply. The demand line tilts downward the more control the firm has over the price. This has confused me because it's quite different than the old supply and demand graph I'm used to. Does the traditional graph only apply to markets and not firms?

  • Could someone help me understand aggregate demand and supply?

I have struggled with macroeconomic concepts for months and I am trying to finally fill all the holes in my knowledge. A lot of them involve how aggregate demand and aggregate supply relate to each other. Here's what I understand:

-Aggregate demand is a measure of the flow (how much the different stakeholders are spending) of goods and services in an economy using real GDP. The lower the price levels, the higher the flow.

-The difference between long-run and short-run aggregate supply is that wages are flexible in the first but not the other.

    Here's what I don't understand:

-If aggregate supply is the total output of an economy, how does it differ from aggregate demand if they're measured the same way?

-If "average price level" suddenly goes above or below the equilibrium, the AD and AS curves will have different real GDP values. I can understand this creates a surplus or a shortage in microeconomics, but what I don't understand here is how can a nation have two real GDP values at the same time? I thought a country can only have one real GDP value at a certain time? Am I thinking about this the wrong way?

-Is this model ever used with actual numbers and not just abstractions?

  • What is the best anti-virus software?

I've tried researching this question already, but all the anti-virus programs I've looked at have customers describing some kind of catastrophe they've caused. For major programs like Avast and AVG, I see reviews like, "It used to be great, but now it's junk." If anyone knows an anti-virus program that performs well, I would really appreciate it if you told it here.

  • How do you use constructors in Java?

I am learning Java and I am having trouble understanding constructors. I know what the basic variables are, I know what methods are, I know what objects are, but I do not understand what how you use constructors. Why do you need many of them, all of the same name? I would appreciate it if someone explained it to me. Thank you.

  • Why isn't my Canon MG5300 printer printing?

I have tried to print wirelessly from both my Mac and my PC. The printer does not respond and the computer keeps saying "Looking for printer" even though the printer itself shows no errors and shows what it always shows on its screen. I don't want to go and try to make it wired. It was working fine until it started doing this a few days ago. I tried restarting the printer and reentering the wireless settings on it but that didn't work.

  • How do I fix my clarinet?

There are two keys on my clarinet that don't close a hole completely when pressed.

    This hole: http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa451/tphilli1...

Does not close all the way down when pressed with these keys: http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa451/tphilli1...

Air comes out because the keys can't be pressed all the way down. I can cover this hole when I use a different fingering, but I want to be able to close it with these keys.

  • Help! Mac deleted one of my documents!?

I was working on an important document. I saved it under a certain name and then closed the document. When I went to my documents folder, it turns out there already was a file with the name I used and the important document I was just working on was nowhere to be seen. I looked in all folders; applications, downloads, documents, music, videos, etc. I searched the whole mac and I can't find it. Microsoft Word 2011 did not tell me that I am trying to save this under a name that already exists. It simply deleted its autosave in its system folder, did not save my file, and was gone once I closed it.

Why didn't Word tell me that a file already exists under that name? Can I still find my document? I am really angry. I am using Mac OS X Lion.
