What is the fastest way to becoming a Naval Officer?
I want to become a Pilot in the Navy, however, there are cutoff ages. I need to be at least 18 years old when I enlist in the Navy and be commissioned as an officer before turning 28. I am currently 22 years of age and I have an associate's of applied science in CJ. However, it is from a technological school (Nationaly Accredited), meaning that my credits are non transferable to a four year state university. My plan was to get my Bachelor's degree from University of Phoenix (Also Technological/ ant they do accept my credits) which is regionally accredited, where I would be graduating by the age of 24; then going in as active duty and of course applying to OCS, and luckily being accepted before my 27th birthday.
My concern(s) are: 1) Will there be a problem if my degrees are from a technological school
2) What are my chances of being commissioned as an officer before or by my 27th birthday.
I also contemplated on starting over from a four year state university and doing NROTC while obtaining my BA, where I'd be finishing up by the age of 26-27. But will I new able to receive an NROTC scholarship with my associates, even though they don't accept my credits.
If you have any information that may help I would greatly appreciate it.
Best regards!
