Background information: I live in Illinois and have been recently looking into getting a Northern Inuit (only one in America at the moment). My plan is to eventually breed them. There is a lot that goes into the Breeding, and one important thing is for the Northern Inuit to, eventually, be recognized as a breed by AKC.

How do you do that? You make the public aware...

I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to make a small community aware, but I don't really want to settle for that. And to hit a larger crowd, you need to be able to show your dog. I am not planning on winning a whole bunch of awards, that doesn't really interest me. I just want to know where I can find shows that would allow a non-standard pure-bred dog. I have googled it over and over again, but I just can't seem to come up with the right google words. I was hoping some of you might know more about showing and would be able to help me figure out where I should start.
