I'm new to knitting and I'm half way through a Shrug using 53% wool & 47% acrylic blend. Why do you have to block your knitting? and is there ever a reason you don't need to?

He gets fed 3 times a day with a high quality kibble. If I try to offer more he refuses. He is wormed by the vet monthly and even the vet thought he looked thin, but thought it was just because he was still settling in.Since his last visit he still looks a bit thin. I've never had a Boxer pup before do they get long and thin looking at any stage? He is happy and very active, very sociable and very smart. Help
