  • On The Road: "Don't you know that god is Pooh Bear?"?

What did Kerouac mean by this? I have my own thoughts but want to hear what others think.

  • How are Jews/Homosexuals/Gypsys thought of in modern day Germany?

We just got done studying WWII in school. I found in highly fascinating. What did your grandparents tell you about it? Did any of them admit any guilt? What is the current feeling towards the groups I listed above, is the feeling towards them pretty average, or still prejudiced or is there extra sympathy? Is there even a Jewish community left in Germany today? Are homosexuals totally accepted?

Is there any chance of such prejudices coming up again? What are you guys taught about Nazi Germany? I'm sure it's all negative stuff when they speak of it, but do they spend much time on it in school? Or is it just quickly gone over?

I imagine people who read this are young enough to where they have absolutely no prejudice. But is there any among your parents or grandparents? Have you known anyone still unashamed to be Nazi or is the stigma against it too great?

I hope I didn't offend anyone. I was just learning about this stuff in school, in depth, and I am honestly curious about what modern day Germany is like from young folks to old ones who can remember the war or opinions on old people who are dead from younger people who have talked with them about it before they died.

  • What political system other then democracy, has shown to be better?

This is most for pro-Russian/China people out there.

Let's say all the free world has done is show the rest of the world that democracy isn't chaos. That there is a great invisibly strength in a people's union. Let's say we've shown the world that a people can endure awful sacrifice and yet cohere, might that not save at least the idea of democracy to aspire to?? Eventually to become worthy of????

At any rate, whatever may be proven by blood and sacrifice must have been proven by now!!!!! Shall we stop this bleeding?

  • How many environmentalists are willing to make the ultimate pro-environmental decision as I am?

And not have any children? The ABSOLUTE WORST thing you can do to the environment is to have even a single child. You could get a stretch diesel Hummer to drive you around the rest of your life while tires burned on it's roof and you wouldn't come close to the environmental damage that having a single child will.

And no, I'm not trying to be funny here or prove some sort of a anti-green point. My only point is that if you are truly dedicated to the environment you will not have a child.

  • In registering for school, man/woman wasn't the only option for "Sex", can you guess what else there was?

This actually is not a joke. I was registering online for class today for a couple courses in the summer and I came across the "sex" portion while registering and it had three options: Man, Woman, Other.

I don't have any problems with someone who is transgender. But it did make me wonder, would this be offensive? Surely even a transgender identifies with one more than the other, right? Will there eventually be multiple options such as man-transitioning-to-woman and vice versa? What would someone who cross-dresses full time be? Does a school even have the right to know this type of information or even request it? Are places of employment next? What if you aren't legally another sex yet? Would this change anything? Does this give rights to go to a certain bathroom? Will there be bathrooms for "other" in the future?

Ok, some of these are kind of tongue in cheek, but I am serious with the general nature of the questions.

  • Russia's claim on Crimea is illegitimate, anyone disagree?

First off, let me give another situation that would be nearly exactly the same. Hong Kong was ruled by Britian for around two centuries. They handed it over about 20 years ago. It is now an autonomous region of China (one country, two systems). Yet everyone would agree that the UK would be in violation of international law if they went to annex Hong Kong despite having a British majority there and having ruled it for a couple centuries, right?

So why could the Crimea be any different?

OK, let's say that the people of the Crimea want to be free from Ukraine, and you say that Russia has given them the opportunity to vote on it. YOu are wrong there again. The ballot was either to join Russia now, or go back to the 1992 constitution (1995 constitution is the current one, 1992 was thrown out after new one was adopted in Crimea) and eventually join Russia. Why weren't Crimean people given the opportunity to maintain the status quo or to join Ukraine fully?

Why have Russian troops taken over the Crimea? Why did they cut off Ukrainian TV to the Crimea? Why did Russia take over the Crimean parliament buildings and voting places? Why was Russia trying to force Ukrainian military to either surrender or swear allegiance to Russia?

Is there anything in the occupation/annexation that HASN'T been completely illegal?

And for those that agree with me. What do you think the US response will be? I imagine we'll wait to see what Russia does, but what is the best/worst case scenario for us? Obviously we're not getting into WWIII, but what else?

  • How can liberals speak Ronald Reagan's name in vain?

I and my children pray to Ronnie every night. If fact we have a statue of him in our front yard that we salute every day. We use a Roman salute, the neighbors call it a Nazi salute but they don't know what they're talking about.

I saved a bunch of Ronnie bumper stickers from the 80s and have since plastered them all over every new car I've bought. Wife doesn't like it but she doesn't quite understand what a deity Ronald Reagan is (I say "is" because God's cannot really die).

My dear President Reagan is with me in thought all day long and I dream of him at night.

My sources at the GOP share my love for him and we have been doing research into his 1980 campaign so we can win the 2016 election! Us conservatives wrote a secret Bible that replaces the word "Jesus" with "Ronnie." We have decided to be true to the 1980's GOP and never move away from it, even thirty plus years later!

LONG LIVE RONALD REAGAN!!!! (he is not really dead).
