  • Has anyone shot the new .17 Winchester Super Mag?

Seems interesting. I haven't seen it in stores yet... but it looks like a promising rimfire.

If you haven't seen it yet, heres a link: http://www.guns.com/2013/01/03/the-new-17-winchest...

  • Marijuana Legalization -- conservatives?

I aim this question specifically toward the conservatives and Republicans on this site. From my own observations, a lot of the conservatives here are part of the "Tea Party" movement, and I know the view of marijuana legalization varies considerable within. So what's your outlook? Why?

  • Question for the Dems and Reps?

Dems: how do you feel about Reps?

Reps: How do you feel about Dems?

Evil? Nazi? Communist? or just misinformed? Seems like there's a bit too much hate between the parties that are close to becoming one in the same...

  • Quick quiz - just to pass the time?

    http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz

If you are "politically homeless", or haven't checked where you are in a while... or just for the fun of it, this quiz only has 10 questions -- they're a little loaded, but it's just a quiz. Maybe you'll find out you aren't where you think you were. I've had a "liberal" take this and come out a neocon. So who knows. PLus, we're all on YA! anyway.. it's not like there's much else we're doing :|

  • Calling on all Liberals, Conservatives, Tea Partiers, and even communists!?

What are your views on Libertarians? Too radical? Crazy? Republicans who tried weed (heard that one too many times)? As a Libertarian, I'll find it interesting to hear what you guys think about us. If you haven't read the platform, here ya are: http://www.lp.org/platform

  • A merry Christmas to the hunters of Y!A!?

Just wanted to wish all the regulars here a merry Christmas and a happy new year. To make it a question, what kind of goodies did you want this year? It looks like I may be getting a nice new reloading press...

  • Scenario - You can own one?

One firearm of any kind - and only one. This can't be traded or sold, and you will own it for your whole life. What do you choose? For me, it's looking like it would be my good ol' Sendero II. It's unbelievable how much money I put into that - and it's performance proves it. Although, it would be hard to live without my Savage MK II...

Slow night. Havin' a bit of fun ;)

  • The Remington 700's X-Mark Pro trigger?

You may or may not have seen "Remington Under Fire" on CNBC, that discussed how "poorly made the Walker trigger mechanism was". To those looking to buy a new Remington 700, look at this: http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/manufactu...

If you don't have time to read it all, read this: "In 2007, partly in response to the lawsuits, Remington introduced a new trigger system for the 700 called the X-Mark Pro. The controversial trigger connector is gone, and the safety includes a trigger block, just as Mike Walker proposed in 1948."

So there you go. CNBC, like always, had a biased, anti-gun topic that they just HAD to share. Yes, the ones with the Walker trigger are still being sold, but, the show clearly stated that Remington has done nothing to change this design, when that is, in fact, false.

  • Your worst shooting experience?

Oh man, do I have a strong memory of mine. It was a rainy day, windy, about 4 in the afternoon, an emergency sight in on my SPS's Bushnell, that had been whacked when packing for my early parting to north Idaho the next day. The scope did not cooperate at all, the rain was flying right into my face, the target could barely keep itself up, winds nearing 40 mph. When I thought it couldn't get any worse, for a reason I cannot explain, my 7RM box was half empty. with 10 rounds to sight in a scope wildly off, I was able to get them on a paper plate after an hour.

On the way back to the car, the gun slipped into the mud. The action was jam packed with it, the barrel filled, and it got a nice scratch on the stock. At the time I had nothing larger than the 7 Mag, next step down was a .30-30, that was going to have to work for elk. Didn't bring anything home my last season in Idaho.

    Anyone got a bad one?

  • Have you ever given up one of your guns?

For something else? I'm not talking about selling one completely willingly because you no longer desire to own it, I mean giving one up for a more important purpose, such as putting food on the table, or to pay off a debt, or to help a friend in need?

  • The Springfield XD and the Glock?

Today, an old high school friend of mine was in town, so I took off work to get out shootin' with him. Funny enough, he had a few guns I was real interested in tryin', one of them being the XD .40 S&W. I have to say, for all you Glock fans such as myself out there, the Springfield is more than worth trying. After an afternoon of about 150 rounds, I am seriously pricing around for them. Not quite ready to buy one yet, but sooner or later it will slip into my safe. Even with it's multiple safety features, it manages to keep it simple and easy to use. Great gun, if you are a new or experienced shooter. Not ready to say it's better than a Glock, as 'better' covers many aspects of the firearm. Just recommending it to the forum and regulars, if you haven't checked one out yet.

To please Y!A, (making it a question) what do you guys think? XD or Glock?

  • Hunters! When does the season in your state start? Have you gone yet?

The early-bird deer season starts on the 27th and ends Oct. 5th here in Colorado, I look to be going around October 23rd. Haven't caught up with elk or bear, just don't have time this year. Anyone already huntin'? Looks like it's already open back in Idaho...

Oh, and Bobby, I have a little side-question for ya, why are you so terrified of recoil? You say you want to join the marines? That ain't goin' to go over well with your drill sergeant.
